  • Respec, costs 50% xp
  • Auto-accepted full namechange within 1h of retirement
  • New character creation only allowed on EU_cRPG_x servers
  • Marketplace improvements: Sold items auto-removed, items auto-removed when heirloomed
  • Removed retirement below lvl 31
  • Restructured char page slightly
  • Admin tool improvements
  • Other small bugfixes

Finally! But um... Why is new character creation now restricted to certain servers?

EDIT: As for the 50% XP cost for respec, will the reduction create a "debt" that you have to pay off but you keep your level, or does it retroactively de-level you?

Aww why can't we retire at 15 anymore??

Likely because there is a respec now, which effectively does the same thing but better imo.

Lovely, good job! Curious as well why on new characters on the EU?

Took you long enough. :P

EDIT: As for the 50% XP cost for respec, will the reduction create a "debt" that you have to pay off but you keep your level, or does it retroactively de-level you?

It cuts your XP in half, thus de-leveling you, and removes all assigned points for respeccing.

Cant the Respec be abused / take advantage of? Think about it.....your lvl 31 and half of lvl 31 is making you a lvl 30 so cant people just respec over and over again and play new a classes at 30? The age of no more peasants?
Title: Re: Minor website patch
Post by: okiN on June 27, 2011, 10:05:07 pm
I don't think that's such a big issue. They'll be losing a lot of XP in the process and the respec is their only reward.
Title: Re: Minor website patch
Post by: Espu on June 27, 2011, 10:05:14 pm
Respec at 31 takes you down to 30. Respec at 30 takes you down to.. 28? Respec at 28 takes you down etc.
Title: Re: Minor website patch
Post by: Bulzur on June 27, 2011, 10:05:45 pm
  • Respec, costs 50% xp

Hum, 50% of all the xp, or just the xp you needed to attain your last level up ?
Example : Mr A, lv30, 8,420,577 xp. Decide to respecs.
He's lv30, where he last used attributes points, costed him 4 420 577 xp.
He becomes :- Mr A, 4,210,288 xp (direct half)
                   OR
                   - Mr A, 6,210,288 xp  (half of what was needed for his lv30 + total of what he gained as a lv30)

@Deadlysiins : That's no abuse, that's indeed a perpetual lv30, but with as much xp for a new lv30 AND no heirloom, no more increase in gen.

@All, stop typing new replies why i edit my post... -_-

Edit for okin :
Okay, thanks ! Humm... i don't think i'll use it, but it's good to have the option.

No worries.

Hum, 50% of all the xp, or just the xp you needed to attain your last level up ?

50% of all the character's XP. I just used it to fix a build problem on my 2h alt, and it dropped me from ~5mil XP lvl30 to ~2,5mil XP lvl27.

So this will be great for testing out new builds? So basically the jump to 30 feature is obsolete..?

So if you were to retire at 31 will you still earn an heirloom point + exp boost?

So retireing before 30 would do the 50% thing for respecing?

There is no "retire" option left for low levels, you have to do it at level 31 plus now.

You can, however, respect at any level, though I am curious if it will crash or something if I try and respec a 0XP character.

Maybe, if you don't mind losing loads of XP in the process. Don't forget, the XP has to come from somewhere. I wouldn't say this affect's skip the fun's position at all.

Respec is not retirement, so that would be a "no", i guess.
Title: Re: Minor website patch

Quote
What is respec

Respec effectively makes you lose half your experience but allows you to fully reassign skill and attribute points and weapon proficiencies. Your kill and death counters will also reset to 0. It does not cost any gold and you will retain all your old items.

So if you're level 30 with 4,420,577 xp and respec, you lose 50% of your xp. This leaves you with 2,210,229 xp which makes you level 26. All skill, attribute and wpf points are freed so you basically have a ton of free points to spend. Re-do your character. Change from archer to cavalry or whatever.

Can i use "Auto-accepted full namechange within 1h of retirement" after respec?

No.

Does this update allow everyone to have a single skip the fun alt as was mentioned, or is that feature still sitting on the easel?

No.

If you click it, it will Flash the top left thing that allows you to switch from one character to another, that is all that I found.

I'm salty about the respec. I mean, I am glad you guys put one in finally. But I am mad at it's poor implementation.

When the big patch hit, everyone was allowed heirloom resets and the devs ignored my repeated plea to have a free character respec for people like me who can't use weapons on some characters anymore due to strength requirements going up on weapons. Since I was nearly level 32 and a casual gamer, I could not retire it and level it back up. That was impossible. I have been unable to play this character for a long time.

You finally introduce a respec -- But at a 50% XP cost! I would be put down to level 30 -- the whole reason I wasn't retiring it since I cant grind. I'd still be punished. The first respec should be free, the ones AFTER it should cost the 50% exp.
Thanks for ignoring my repeated requests in every patch related thread. I understand you don't want shit abused. However, There should have been and there should be a one-time free respec though with any major balance patch.

I still can't do it. I'm forced to wait until you offer a free one. I can't play that character as it is, and I don't have the time to invest to level it back up higher if I respec. I'll be playing instant level 30s on my other cd key when I have an hour here and there.

As I say in every thread: Grind should not be a prerequisite to playing. Grind should be an optional thing for players to do for a small bonus if they want to.

Hehe,it is almost as if they modeled this after an asian f2p grinder mmo but without the cash shop xp potions which is the whole reason those games are grinders. :P

I have a question:
"You can change your name freely and it is auto-accepted. Apply for name change on settings page within one hour of retiring and it is auto-accepted."

If I retire and completely change the name of an alt, is it possible to change the gender of the char also? If yes... how?
Title: Re: Minor website patch
Post by: Nihtgenga on June 28, 2011, 10:45:01 am
dont think that this got implemented in this patch.

I believe its rather a m&b wb thing, that you get problems if you change gender.

ps: you can theoretically can change you gender if you just create a new character and name it the same as your retired character.
but it is bugged, you wont get you old items, so dont do it ;-)

Clicking switch character just make you charac list "drop down menu" blink.

Only when combined with a gold reset back to 10k.

Woot ?
Skip the fun doesn't allow you to have a main, thus doesn't let you access the market.
And you can't retire. Knowing all that, how can you have heirlooms ? Except if your character had already retired at least once (was not gen 1 then) and you did something a bit stupid "skiping the fun" with it. Now that you have the "respec", thoses things won't happen anymore, luckily.

I'm against allowing characters from skip-the-fun to be able to lvup again, proviging a mear 20-50k gold fee. Real peasants started with no money, not even 10k. So with peasant gear. And starting at lv15 is already too much. You're not even a peasant anymore at lv15 (that's 21 str build already for example).

If you allow skip the fun characters to go back to a lvling up character, then : bring him back to lv1, take away 10k from him (the free money from skip the fun), and make him pay 50k at least for it.
