I'm using masterwork highland claymore, it's not too expensive like the high end swords, has the highest cut dmg that can also stab.
-
Heavy Bastard Sword.
- Sexy sheath (Longsword loses major brownie points on this).
- Nice looking sword.
- Cheap and thus allows me to sport very nice armour and still make a profit
- Fast
- Deals enough damage with a high PS build to still one or two shot almost anything I want.
- Not one of the super popular swords, so I feel like I am not a "Cookie-Cutter" character.
- That sword specifically fits the theme of one of my characters.
-
I like the Katana, allthough its shit..
-
(Sword) of Tears, mostly because of the great hilt texture, but also for the great blademaster feeling its luxurious length delivers and the joy of its jump-thrust.
2nd is Heavy Great Sword, which used to be worse than Sword o' War, but the uninspirational new model for the latter makes this sword the best way to feel the full heft of your power strike without the enduring shame associated with crushthrough, knockdown and stumble weapons.
-
longsword, though tears of destiny raises a point about the sheathe
is now only slight improvement upon HBS, but have habit of using one since before nerf. has speed, length and damage. anything you could want for spreading the blood of your enemies.

Agreed, the longsword cost 1200 more with +1 length, and 1 length is virtually nothing. IMO, the modders need to some serious balancing work. The last few highend swords are way too expensive for its stats, some are worse than the cheaper ones.
Btw did you heir loom your HBS?
-
I like the Katana, allthough its shit..
Me too, but the high cost with worse stats, not worth at all. I still don't get why the stab dmg is so low, with smaller tip, it should stab better than comparable swords. Most average 1h swords has better stabbing dmg.
-
2h Axes are cooler FYI
-
Normal greatsword.
-
Danish always even though it gets nerfed every patch.
-

Nope.

'
Looks shit indeed, but it's not a bad weapon.
-
Katana. I don't care if you nerf it to the equivalent of a practice sword or spoon. I'll still use it, it's stylish, the european swords are either too big or lack sheaths or otherwise just plain. Although the 2 point difference in thrustdamage between katana and practice sword still makes me grin a bit.
-
Hey man practice sword is a serious weapon, it was used troughout the middle ages to practice and.. uhm.. stuff

Those are threads about the BEST not our personal favorite 2 handed weapons.
Oh, and my vote goes for the german great sword, although I'm playing danish atm, the. german looks way better adn thus wins.
-
Katana. Style points for using a 1hander without a shield like a man.
Langes messer. Pure looks.
-
Miaodao, fast, long, 40 cut.
-
Longsword
-
Two-Handed Sword. Was my favorite (out of... two-handed swords, anyhow) in Native, is a good trade-off between weight, speed, damage and length.
-
Mancleaver.
Reason: It's the fucking Mancleaver.
-
Katana, cause it's sexy and fast
-
Heavy Bastard Sword.
- That sword specifically fits the theme of all of my characters.
[/list]
Fixed.

In terms of overall balance:
MW Miadao
Was and still is a total beast.
In terms of style MW Sword of War (Allthough this is not apparent watching my sell threads)
Hall of fame:
Sword of Cookies

German greatsword
-
MW Longsword and MW Danish.
-
German, cause it looks and stubs very nice.
-
Im scottish, so i gotta go with the highland claymore. :)

The Danish Greatsword was originally named the Sword of Cookies and the German Greatsword was of Tears.

From time to time I use the Persian Battle Axe just because of how satisfying it is to bring down on someones face. Probably helps keep the rust off my counter attack timing to use a 90 speed weapon every now and then.
Main 2h is the Miaodao. For me its part nostalgia ( it was the first good weapon I bought in the pre-upkeep system ) and part weapon speed. Strictly speaking I think the longsword is better but the Miaodaos speed still gives you nice counter attack windows vs most weapons which comes in handy when your focus is divided.

me too.. was better time ago before the length nerf but overall is good. the stab sucks but better than none.
i had the chance to try a masterwork miaodao of a mate of mine. that was by far superior.
-
German Greatsword i like stabbing
-
Your favorite 2h sword, and why?
The English Bill.....good weapon that.
ps: trololo
