Heyho,
as a Ninja, who only wears light armor and dont use Plate, i only have little repair costs. So to use my money, i bought stuff for camourflage,+ have a Katana, Nodachi, Miaodao, a Military Fork, all versions of throwing stars and other weapons i can use with my 2H/agi build (lvl 30, 14 str, 24 agi). I already bought a siege ladder, a siege shield and even the construction site only to use my money.
Now i have too much gold in my pocket again- what should i do with my 94790 Gold?
So what speak against a buyable upgrade for weapons and armor like the retirement-bonus ? It can be as well very expensive, but would be a good target for moneycollectors like me. ;)
What do u mean?

maybe u laugh at it- but eventually in 10 days... ....nah, that would be too unhealthy for me. :P
well i would be happy when it cost 250000 gold or sort of....

I agree with seranoth my character Kerin Grahm has every thing she could ever want with her mw dagger and mw siege xbow and I make so much money I don't know what to use it for I have 100,000 currently -.-

I say add the flintlock pistol for around the cost of a plated charger and make it reminiscent of the sniper crossbow pre-patch.
Or don't... preferably don't.

100k for +1 would be ok for me. I'd love to save up instead of buying crap for lols.
-
Yes, 100k for a +1 modifier seems right.
-
Bad idea, how many times did we go through this. Money should never be used as a "balancing" tool, that is how we got the full plate charger and full plate tin can problem in the first place.

Some people tend to turn everything they touch into an arcade game ?
The problem isn't the ability to get so-called better equipment, but the power of these. Don't remove the possibility of upgrading because of a few OP items ! Nerf those instead (or buff the rest).

No it's not! Don't you get it? Heirlooms were made 1/3 to make them rare and now you want to spread them again for cheap money?
100k can be farmed in no time, better make the price 5.000.000.

It seems the point will come when we'll need cool-looking, extremely expensive, but stat-wise indifferent versions of all the regular items. I also notice that I have too much gold. I bought and sold again all mail armors, just to see how they look.

100k for +1 it's waaay too low, you can get 100k gold in like 10-15 hours tops, getting to level 31, retiring and back to 31 again takes a hell lot longer. 1 million gold/modifier is fair.

?
If you're in really really low cost gear maybe, or nekkid. 100k gold in a day while paying upkeep? I can see maybe 30k in mid-range gear.

Gorath, that sig picture. do you have it before or after the awl pike nerf?

There was an awlpike nerf?!

The main issue this would create is everyone would go naked and farm cash until the +1 everything in their inventory. So the game would just turn into one big boring grind. 1 month from now everyone is gonna charge into battle wearing full +3 tiered gear lol.
If you have to much cash - put on better/more stuff.
Plus the defintion of an heirloom is not the same as an upgrade. Upgrade in this game is using higher difficulty rated stuff.
Final argument. If you can buy a + modifier then you essentially destroy the purpose of retiring and heirlooming. Who in their right mind would grind to lev 31 then retire and start at 1 when they can stay at 31 and farm cash and +1 the crap outa their gear?
