Hi, I just started scene editing. Often when I click on an object in the objects placed menu (the in game editor), the game crashes. Its basically to the point where I am unable to run the game for more than a a minute or two before it crashes.
Can somebody help me out please?
edit: Yeah, now i can't click anything in the objects menu without it crashing, ugh.

Are you playing through Steam? And are you playing through a personalized module or a generic one?
-
I am not playing through steam and the module I'm using is a copy of native.
-
why don't you use the cRPG scene editor ?
maybe you did something wrong with this module (quickscene chooser ?)

Do you mean making the maps within the crpg module? I followed the instructions for making maps stickied on this board (originally from tale-worlds forums). I figured I would be able to transfer the maps from my native copy to crpg later and that it was not a good idea to mess with the crpg module directly.
I don't think I did anything wrong with the quick scene chooser; I've been editing in multiplayer.
The crashing is annoying, but saving often has worked. Sometimes I try to close editing mode (to save) and it crashes, which is the worst.
If you guys have suggestions I'd greatly appreciate them.

i also used the native copy and have the same crashes. everyone of who i know to edit scenes has them (weird sentence, i hope it's understandable;) ).
i noticed, the game often crashes, when i work with entry points.
i'm sorry to say, i don't know a cure, except saving often.

I map in a copy of native like you and I also get crashes from time to time. Seems launching the game through steam and getting a message from someone while in the scene editor causes it to stop responding which can cause a crash. Launch the game without steam or with steam in offline mode fixes this. Another good one is when you are editing the size of an object manually, if you mouse over a windows element (like stuff on the taskbar, clock etc.) that can cause a crash as well. Fun stuff.

Okay, from what I'm gathering my issue is not specific to myself and is a universal problem (misery loves company!).
My first map is about 50% done anyways, thanks for the responses.

Warband just has these issues. Little things are liable to make it crash. Save often and godspeed, sir.

What exactly do you mean with "crash"? A force-close? Runtime error message? Freeze?
I edit my scenes in a copy of native, through steam, and never had a crash. I only have longer periods of freezes, when I accidentially rightclick outside the editing window on the taskbar, e.g. or hover over a taskbar entry and the name popup is displayed. But i just have to wait some 20 seconds and it's working again.

I crash occassionally after a lockup. The editor does not like you to do thing quickly or do a lot of things at once. I usually crash if I switch between different editing menus quickly or try to delete multiple objects at once. Its just a shitty editor.
