Title: English in main channel
Post by: Gingerpussy on June 19, 2011, 12:22:49 pm: I just came back to play some more cRPG and there are manny changes.
We have a wonderfull community with people from all over the world. BUT

Im sick and tired of ppl talking SLAV, Russian, Swedish, or whatever in the main channel in servers.
Especialy when they write something about me or my clan or whatever that we dont understand.

Once upon a time in EU servers the ONLY ENGLISH was strictly enforced, WHY is this rule taken away ?

Post by: okiN on June 19, 2011, 12:53:30 pm: I really don't see a problem. I don't think it was ever even a rule in the past, but maybe some admins still enforced it, I dunno. It's definitely not a rule now, though, and I don't think there's any real reason to make it one. 90% of the chat on EU servers is English anyway, I'm not going to throw a fit over the occasional cyrillic user.

See the Pecores server is not restricted to French and yet 50% to 70% of players are French or speak French.

Well, it's certainly not listed in the January edition on the old cRPG forum at TW. I don't remember ever hearing about it before, either, so I think it must have been a made-up rule only enforced by some admins.

Personally, I hardly ever speak anything other than English on the servers, but I can't say it really bothers me when other people speak in different languages.

Personally I think it's ruder to force them to speak our language. If you want to know what they are saying, go learn to speak it :lol:

Seriously, with such large population, Enforcing the "ENG talk only" Rule is impossible.

PS: Also, I love decoding what others say in their own language. You can find a lot of similiarities between languages, it's so much fun.
You'll just end up knowing more after all, right? :wink:

This is just pure bs. I have never ever seen anyone told not to talk in their native tongue or booted for doing so. I have infact seen many of the admins doing it. I personally have been talking with Finns in finnish alot. Never a problem.

Det er 81 familier i Norge, med omtrent 3 000 arter. Mercs fluer kan bli opp til et halvt år gamle gingerpussy.

Fluene har en kroppslengde fra 2 mm til ca. 60 mm. Kroppen består av tre kroppsavsnitt, Gingerpussy, hodet, bakkroppen og brystpartiet.

Fargene kan være alt fra svart til lyst gul, ofte i brungule nyanser. Men Gingerpussy også noen er metallisk farget, en farge som oppstår ved lysbrytning.

Kroppen kan ha flere stive børster (seta), og noen arter er delvis hårkledde.

Studiet av sopp (Caravan Guild) var tidligere en del av botanikken, men ses i dag på som en selvstendig gren av biologien ikke minst fordi nuffsopp er nærmere beslektet med dyr enn med planter.

If anything, I don't think we have such 'problems' (Not sure if multilingual is a problem) in NA servers, not from what I've seen so far, so not an issue for me atm.

I could type Chinese if I want, but I doubt that it will be visible to anyone except the ones opened M&B in Chinese version (Which is mostly in CN servers).

I disagree, it's a Universal game and in the world the common language to communicate with eachother is English. They should learn English, not the other way around.
