So I don't know if someone has suggested this yet but... Could it be possible that battalion flag would be displayed with same image that the carrier has in his banner? Despite what battallion he chooses it would be always the same image. It would be nice especially when clan plays together they could instantly see their banner in the flag and know where their buddies are.

This sounds like win.

Added poll.

great idea
I would also suggest the banner become 50% translucent for the carrier..so they can actually see what they're doing

That is also a good suggestion!

It would be good that the banner will be a kind polearm with a heraldic cloth (as shield)

Let's not put heraldic everywhere :D. Keep it simple then we maybe could actually have this implemented.
-
If it can be done, then by all means, do it.

which retard voted for no?

I meant that the banner will be as separate object which it will be necessary to take in hands (as in m&m mod), not as now is groundless over a head. It will be good

This is not m&m. And I don't like the idea of making everything heraldic. How would you fight if you were leading and you had that kind of thing in your hands? I don't like that idea either. The system would be like it is now but the images in the flag would be the clan banner and maybe if possible make it less visible for it's carrier like Digglez said :). That's what I am after here.

I voted no because in battles I use the different battalion flags to break my troops up into different units using the flags to rally around. If the flags were all the same it would be pretty useless to do this!

Good Stuff.

For Strategus though, you could have each subgroup commander pick a different banner before the match starts. Problem solved.

Аny way, to kill frags not the main mission of the standard-bearer. It would be more realistic.
And if you speak

It is not heraldic?

Sorry I am stupid :D. Word "heraldic" means mostly templar gear to me and I was thinking of somekind of fancy weirdly shaped flag :D

Do it!

Bump I would like to hear from the dev team if this could be possible :)
-
uhm, how about you just make an item with a flag on top, like in mount&musket, if you drop it, it stands straight up?

Yep, I already spoke about it :)

I like the idea of having a physical flag to carry. Would mean someone would have to be a dedicated flag man, and there would possibly have to be different variants unless you can tie the groups flag to the groups banner? But it would be cool to have. It is a good addition in mount&musket.
-
simple but great idea, translucent for the carrier would be great aswell...
-
A dedicated flag carrier would be more realistic, but I don't like the idea of making one man in the group comletely unable to fight. There is a reason, because unlike in mount & musket, we mainly use smaller squads (because randomers don't usually care so much about the flag) flanking or doing whatever and if one from the small squad is unable to fight it is not really reasonable to carry a flag.
-
we mainly use smaller squads
we use big squad :)
Nobody will force you to take such flag if you don't want. But there should be a possibility to take it.

You can use your big squads but there shoud still be possibility to use flag with smaller ones too without loosing men to such things as carrying a poleflag.

Make the flag:
lowish price
polearm-two handed
1 slot unsheathable
lowish speed
overhead swing low blunt
thrust low pierce or low blunt
If the flag is dropped it stands straight up. The flag carrier still has 3 slots to use. Shield, sword, flag, badda bing badda boom.

Yet still making it difficult to move fast forward with the flag after you have dropped it and you have defeated some enemies. And by the way how to "choose battallion 1" for example when the flag is like that? Sounds complicated to actually make it.

just make it just like they do with the chainmail surcoats
6 different chainmail with different colored surcoats and one with heraldic pattern.
make 6 polearms with different flags and one with a heraldic pattern.
problem solved

Believe me it is going to kill all the fun in leading... Like it wouldn't be hard enough to find people leading now...

Shameless self bump so devs can see this :).
