It's not too fast. But it's fastest than any xbow, and can be more deadly than Arbalest with proper build:

final damage: 84p (bonus from wpf, PD and str)
against 80 armor: 27-56p


With Doom's Day archer build - 24\21, 8PD and 167 WPF in archery
final damage: 92p (bonus from wpf, PD and str)
against 80 armor: 33-64p

Sorry, not interested in expensive 2H (danish, german, claymore) or arbalest, or courser, arabian. All this items is quickest way to bankrupcy.
