If you find nobody "real" you can go on ndition duel server (native) there is bot that you can challenge.

Even if you can't use your own char with his gear, this will learn you how to block and basic fighting technics.

Well, step number one might be to pick a focus on either of those weapon types, I think. Generally speaking, going hybrid drops your combat effectiveness a bit by splitting your WPF points, so I personally wouldn't do it as a newbie.

2-h then. I love vikings... is there a vent or TS that cRPG has?

What Okin said.

Then check a few of the good guides in the corresponding forum.

And finally play some sieges to get low respawn timer or spectate a few battles (or when you'r dead) what the top people on the score list are doing.

When you reach decent lvl apply for a clan if you'r not an ass and then find a mentor there.

Are you NA or EU?

Many clans have their own, but there is one that's shared by several:

Thank you for advice everyone, I actually did the instant 30 so I can just play now and if I want to lvl normally later on i'll kill my main and start fresh.

I'm actually NA but I mean... my ping isn't too bad on EU servers since I live in Alaska. TS info?

You should hook up with some of those NA types then :D

Dunno them very well.

Guards has a small NA-department, but don't know much about that either.

I'd play on the NA servers. otherwise you won't actually be able to manual block reliably at all if your ping is over 200 :(
I'm willing to teach any time I'm in the NA duel server.
Ask in game and most good players will help you too.

Thanks, once I get stats done i'll be in there.

Load up Warband Native.
Start a single player game.
Go to the Training Field.
Enter options, set blocking to "Manual, by mouse direction" and Battle AI to "Low".
Ask the Veteran Fighter for a duel.
Try to block all his attacks.
When you can block all attacks for 30-60 seconds, set Battle AI to "Medium" and repeat.
When you can block all attacks for 30-60 seconds, set Battle AI to "High" and repeat until bored.

This will give you intensive basic manual block training, which is the most basic and necessary skill to survive in cRPG. You'll do significantly better after this.

Welcome!
Anyone new to Mount & Blade: Warband should start in the native game. Need the basic training to get the feel of the game.
cRPG could be rough for someone who never tried the original version of this game.
It is fun to just jump in and explore, but to be helpful to your team mates you need lots of practice.
Key is: have fun!
*playing for fun will help ease the frustration of getting clobbered over and over!

well, when i started out and didn't know what was front and back of my sword, i made an agi build, so i could get a few kills simply by moving in and out of range with my katana. That took some of the frustration caused by not being able to block :)

It also helped me to go play against the single player bots, and then some guys guys on the duel server taught me a little (The duel server is very good practice, ust dont duel those who top the scoreboard)
