Title: Retirement Problem
Post by: Atticus226 on June 15, 2011, 02:09:33 am
Hey, I've got a problem with a new character:
I first character reached level 31 today and I retired.
On the CRPG site I clicked 'Retirement' and chose a weapon to heirloom.
So now I've got a new character in second generation at level 1 (but with the name of the first generation).

After that I went into Mount&Blade and under 'multiplayer' I created a new character with a new name.
I entered a CRPG server and thought my new character is going to be 'activated' now?

But now I've got a character in 2nd generation with the old name and old equipment, gold and heirloom...
and a second character in generation 1 with the new name... but actually this second character should've been the inheritor.

What did I do wrong? :-/
I hope anyone can help me
Thank you!

The character is set to level 1 but at gen +1 (Gen two in this case) and keeps all items. When you retire you do not give your stuff to another character. I hope this clarifies what "went wrong."

Take care!

Thanks for the quick reply!
So now there's no chance to give my second generation a new name?

You can, as of now, only fix typos, add and remove clan tags.

However, next patch, when you retire you will be granted a 1 hour name change window for a full name change (assuming that is still planned).

Okay, but normally there is the possibility to  give the new generation a new name, or is everyone using the same name for all of his generations? beacause there are also the players 'charactername' IV' for example?
Btw is there any release date for the next patch?

Thanks!

Most people use the same name for all their generation now, thought you can still request name change for changing your number in the name.

Okay so the only way to get  a new name would be to create a totally new character that starts in generation 1? :-/

I heard if you chat up a dev in IRC your chances for complete name change are not so bad.

Sorry but what is a 'dev'?
I'm no native speaker and also I don't no much about crpg mod and the forum things.
Thanks

Dev is shorthand for developer (the makers of c-rpg). IRC is internet relay chat, here is more information about it: http://wiki.c-rpg.net/index.php?title=IRC
