Title: Give team arrows red fletching
Post by: Rumblood on June 14, 2011, 04:38:29 am
This will either confirm to a player that they were shot by a team archer, or get them to stfu about their lack of battlefield awareness.

"Hey! Idiot team archer quit hitting me in the....oh wait, it's not red.....hmmm where did that come from? Oh hell, how did that guy get there so fast? Enemy archer on the hill behind us!!"

Better yet : automatically deflect team arrows to go in the shooter's back instead of yours.

I'm against this. I've died many times because I assumed we were flanked because a careless teammate shot me in the back. It would give a tactical advantage.

Besides, it would just cause more rage

It's unnecessary, simply assume that every arrow you take is from a friend, and you are more often right than wrong. Archers just like to shoot things, they don't really care about friend or foe. Also, they play with disabled banners.

Make it too where if a team mate hits another team mate, they have red warpaint splashed across their entire body. I have been friendly hit in melee (or even killed from it) far more often then I have from friendly range (and if it is from range, more often then not it is from some nutjob with a 1wpf crossbow).

I also want a friendly horse bump counter...

These responses are exactly why I'd like to see team arrows marked. 75% of the time (90% of all statistics are made up), they got hit by an enemy arrow and are too dense to realize it.

You wanna troll and cause tks and 'accidental' teamwounds on the other team? Flank the enemy team, and instead of targeting the archers hanging back, shoot into the backs of their own melee. Many times I have slipped near (once even in) an enemy archer nest and did this. Pretty funny.

Terrible idea.
I have seen this in Native, stupid infantry will walk infront of friendly archers just before they shoot. = headshot = dead archer

If more infantry would gain just a bit more brains and try to open up the enemy for friends which includes archers, cavalry and spearmen, people wouldnt be complaining so much about being teamkilled.

Instead people decide to spin and dance like some sort of jungle ritual. How can you expect the support classes to support the team when the others dont even care?

May be they spin an dance to dodge enemy's arrows or a big axe coming to their face?

Stupid archer stop complaining on other cause you don't know to aim!

I'm archer myself, i take care of my shots, when i aim into a crowd, i don't release my shot if i'm not sure to not hit a teammate, and when it happens (i don't use aimbot anymore ;)) i say sorry...
