Title: Build help.
Post by: Erathsmus on June 13, 2011, 10:53:14 pm
Looking for a good build that uses 1hand and xbow. Enough to aim the xbow well, and enough to make me a decent melee fighter. I will be doing close quarters for the most part. 13-24 was my first idea for str/agi, but idk if 4 ps is enough to pull off fighting with a 1hander. For lvl 30.

6 weapon master, 100 xbow, 130 1h

or

6 weapon master, 85 xbow 140 1h

dump the rest of your stats and points wherever you see fit.

I like to roll around on a plated charger in plate mail (because I'm dumb), so I do something akin to this:

Strength: 16
Agility: 18
Attributes to skills: 1
Ironflesh: 4
Power Strike: 5
Shield: 6
Athletics: 6
Riding: 6
Weapon Master: 6
One Handed: 135
Crossbow: 100
6 weapon master

All that worries me is the 100 in xbow, will that be enough to use it accurately? I haven't used a xbow since waaaay back.

The main consideration for 1h wpf is speed.  A 1h weapon with 6 PS and 120+ wpf damages fairly well.  I've only 124 1h wpf and it seems to work very nicely, though I compensate with 8 PS.  124 1h wpf also seems to tip the scales slightly in terms of damage, generally giving +.5 damage whereas, oddly, 123 wpf gives a teeny bit less.  Anywho, I suggest 18/18 with 124 in 1h and the rest in crossbow.  I used it effectively pre-patch and was happily capable with a crossbow at short-medium range.

It's hard to make the really long legolas shots, but you're moderately accurate to the far end of mid range with 100 wpf.
