I think daggers would be a lot more interesting and practical if the time it took to unsheath them was reduced considerably. I'm often tempted to switch to a dagger after hitting a guy a couple of times with my main weapon, just to finish him off for style points, but the unsheath time makes doing so really cumbersome. The reduction should not be so great as to grant a "free" attack and switching back to the main weapon should still take time, such that swapping back and forth between two weapons gives no advantage.
Actually, a wider variation of unsheath/unholster speeds amongst weapons of different sizes in general would be interesting. It would make smaller weapons more practical as sidearms, with the side effect of discouraging the crossbow + bigass sword/polearm combo.
What do you guys think? Is this moddable?

we need hidden blades

we need hidden blades
Or how about a cloaking ninja assassin outfit

The Devil's Claw!
Seriously though, it's a sensible idea, but I don't know about how feasible it is, or if it is, whether the work/benefit ratio is worth it.

Or how about when you're sneaking up on someone with a chambered attack, you don't suddenly let loose a bellowing war cry?
I'm not suggesting this just for ninjas and assassins, and I certainly don't play either. I just think a wider spread of unsheath/unholster speeds would make things more interesting by adding another factor to consider when choosing which weapons to use. (I still wish polearms and 2h's had more differentiating characteristics.)

sheath/unsheath speed should be based on weapon length. That would be cool!

Would it be at all possible to remove the 'scream' from holding attacks and instead add it to the q-q menu like whistling?

no just increase dagger sheathering/unsheathering...its quite realistic and gives daggers a little small bonus (:
