Title: Switching between alts (Select Class) in-game
Post by: Duke on June 12, 2011, 10:32:35 am
Pretty simple, and a cursory search did not reveal a topic for it:

Could we / should we be allowed to switch characters on the Select Class screen in-game?
It would need to reset Multipler and K/D ratio, but I see no reason why not, other than possible technical or security difficulties.
cRPG already recognizes alts by CD-key, so I see no reason why we should have to disconnect every time we want to change characters.

People are already whining that there's to much ranged, cav, 2handers, flying fairies, depending on the map type. Making it even easier to switch alts would increase that whining ten-fold as it would probably increase ammounts of archers on archer friendly maps, cav on cav friendly maps and so on. But other then that there's no problem with it I guess.

Players could conversely switch to a shield-alt or whatever they prefer to use as a counter to ranged spam.
I think the loss of Multiplier would deter frequent switching.

I am pretty sure you can't change your name via scripts. Therefore you could have been archer previous map with name X and you could be 2H in the next map with the same name X.
