The Lance of Compensation is out, the Pike is in. Long live the Pike! My days of getting kills are over :cry:
No more days of Chilvalrous Charges thru the enemy ranks no more days of Glory Charging down the foe eye to eye.
The horsed has been reserved only for the ninja!

I have only recently become a warrior of the pony... yet I share your pain! Alas that, ontop of the depravities you have listed, our steeds have been subjected to nerfs. No longer may we ride upon the backs of jet-propelled horses covered head-to-toe in titanium plating.
And yea everyone has pikes now. Even I use it, and I'm a cavalry dude. An evil weapon, I dare say.

Oh noes! Its almost like in native, where cavalry don't have ludicrous weapons... except you know, the fact that your stats are just about as good as a dedicated footman, so you do just fine on foot.
on a side note, I think the price increase for horses is a bit ridiculous.

I am a cav and I'm happy with where this game is going. More reality less fantasy. Hail chadz.

I actually think the costs for cav was increased maybe a bit too much. The cost for the armored horses should remain high but I don't think there is any problem with the lighter horses. Even for brand new players all they need is a pike and they can have a good time stopping horses no matter how shitty the infantry player may be. It takes a while for a new player to get good at infantry combat and I feel without horses to pike these people will feel like they aren't contributing anything.

I seem to do well enough with my palfrey etc which only comes to 15k ;)

I never played cav before but since our chars got reset I made 3 of mine alts cav and now I totally regret that!

I've never had a problem with the lighter horses. I was actually thinking before that they were too expensive before. Cavalry should be balanced, not obliterated. Things like the LoC need to go, but cavalry is still a valid class.

Horse Archers are still fuckin' annoying.
But I actually support the price raise, however if the upkeep gets raised anymore I'm going to have to ride naked

Not being able to bump charge through a crowd of melee anymore without team wounding putting a bit of cramp in the 'ol cavalry style hey?

Im sorta disspointed with chadz, since he nerfed light cav which already died like flies...

Truth.. It's getting hard for me to keep my kills up, and I can only rack up kills against easy opponents like archers (Who are now hard opponents due to arrows of +8 ownage)

Now we all recognised, we live in the year 2011! Happy New Year!
Sure, now many stats are drastically changed, comparing to last versions, but will surely not be the last changes.
Problem for any game/mod with 'much' different equipment and possibilities, if two-three possibilities have advantage all others are only for some PR statistics.....''we have many dozends different equipment and choice possibilties'' (....but only 3 worth to use). To prevent such eyewashing there is need of a balance. And thats what chadz momentary tries. Sometimes to much 'weight' left, the other time to much to the 'right' side of the scale. Folks playing only stuff of one side often not recognising the other.

As a cavalry I never played with the LoC and was a (little) pain for me too.
Im glad it disappears, lots of cav that does not know how to play without it now are dead under my feet.
pd: You get much more kills against infantry too with a Heavy Lance than with the LoC.

People proberly call cavalry OP becouse they proberly just don't look around and then gets backstabbed.
Cavalry right now is pretty much a pure flanker/ambusher.
If you attack a infantry when he is prepared so can he easily just block or kill the horse if he got a pike or so.
If you attack a ranged class that is prepared so can he easily 2 shot the horse.
Put yeah, cavalry can easily bring in alot of kills when coming from behind the enemy lines and get several kills in one charge.
But so can infantry also when they ambush a group of archers.
Also a thing;
Most people are still used to the old times were most cavalries had the plated charger.
Then people focused on killing the rider instead of the horse. Since he was usually easier to kill.
But nowadays so is the horse much easier to kill and the same time very easy to reach.
But people still aim against the rider, which usually goes unsuccesful.
