wellll... im new to the scene edit.. and how do i delete the object i have placed?
-
You left click it and hit the Delete key on your keyboard. You have to leave add object mode, though, to be able to select it.
Note that you can't delete vegetation that is baked into the map during terrain generation.

Unless you paste your terrain code, then remove vegetation to get a new terrain code without the trees.
-
Well, yes, but then you remove ALL trees. Usually there are only a few problematic trees.
-
you can either add ALL trees manual, or you have to live with the ones the terraincode creates. but there is no between. you can't delete the trees created by the terraincode, afaik.

I think one problem with manually placed vegetation is, that it's fully lit during nighttime. Actually, EVERYTHING belonging to the "Plants" type of props seems to act this way, which means: Do not use the grape_vine post as regular wooden beam in constructions, it looks bad in the dark. You can use crude_fence_single_b or whatever it's called. It's rounded, but still better than glowing in the dark.

thx... one more question how do i paste a terrain code with out vegetations ???
-
Check the thread made by Kong Ming, and talesworld, there is a simple tutorial (sry i don't have the link ;)).

afaik, you sonly need to reload your map to apply the lighting changes to placed plants

Well, i'm talking about how it is on the servers. Maybe it's different with DX7 or so, but for me, all manually placed vegetation is fully lit during nighttime. I can post a screenshot, if you like.

Yeah, I was wondering about this. It didn't used to be this way. I don't remember if it came with the last patch or after. For me, not all plants are lit but usually all instances of one type of plant glows. Makes the maps a little weird looking.
