Title: Main character?

I maded a main character, then deleted and killed him. Now all my characters are stuck as alts and won't let me make another main character. Is there a way I can get a main character again?

As the description text says, you need to make a completely new char. When you make a main, all other chars existing at that point are permanently marked as alts.

I just realized that it has been a while since I have read on the forums such a short reply...

For the sake of the duscussion, mind elaborating on the pros and cons (both of you this is directed towards, for clarification) of the current system, as well as any particular reason why the current system is in place?
