How can you scam? I don't quite understand..?

In order to trade loom points the buyer must send the item he wants loomed to the seller, often sending the agreed upon gold at the same time as well, by trading for a straw hat or something. Ideally, the seller puts up an item of significant value as collateral, but generally people are pretty trusting.

Hope the items are returned and the guy is punished.

Huh, he didn't even post my message, I kept messaging him on steam with no reply, actually quite hilarious because he obviously (now) thought that I was wanting my money back or something.

Completely brilliant.

On a side note, he should be dealt with, I know it's the market where you can get scammed, but this is false advertising and although playing off peoples trust, it's still not right, let one guy get away with it, more will start doing it.

For the sake of the market, get rid of this guy. He's been caught by many players here, deal with him...

I can't believe that someone is that 'smart' to do stuff like that. If there are enough proofs, ban him from server base, since this obviously isn't the first time he does something like that.

Tell me about it. I had just retired that day, had a Thick Winged Great Helmet, bought one heirloom point for it, then I gave it to this guy because he said he would heirloom it for me, and then I lost my reinforced Great Winged Helmet. Pisses me off to no end.

Poop got the sword for 950 gold.  Not 950,000 gold, 950 gold.

This is because of an input bug when you list an item.  If you type in "950,000" it is read as "950" and listed for that amount.

Robin typed in "950,000" the site read it as "950" and listed it for 950 gold.  Poophammer bought it, and refused to return it.

I just want to be clear on what happened.

How do YOU even dare to write anything about this matter, Mr. Innocence...

How do YOU even dare to write anything about this matter, Mr. Innocence...

First, I'm simply describing the manner by which poophammer came across the item in question, so there's no confusion.  It was an error in the way the website read a number's format, nothing more, nothing less.

Second, the manner in which you lost YOUR item was due to your own error, not a bug.  You forgot to set the level of heirloom you wanted.  I have offered multiple times to give it back to you, and you have refused.  There is very little I can do for you besides that.  Other people have gladly taken me up on the same offer when I purchased their items for an unintentionally low price.  You're either a drama queen, incredibly stupid, incredibly hubristic, or, more likely, some unfortunate combination of the three.  If I don't hear from you by this weekend, I'm going to assume you don't want your sword, and will give it away.

Have a good week, try to remember your blood pressure medication.  I wouldn't want you to have an aneurism.

How is that a scam? A scam would be me saying, "Hey I will give you a good amount of gold for that sword! How does 950 sound?"

Me getting in trouble for that would be the equivalent of me getting arrested for buying a 5 dollar product at a store for 2 dollars because it was mismarked.

This, however, is what is a scam. He exclusively went out to fuck people over and steal shit.

All I do is refresh the marketplace and look for the cheapest heirloom and click buy before anyone else. There aint a damned thing wrong with that.

It's not an error, it's totally correct. Only americans use the comma as a thousands delimiter.
Every other country in the world uses it as the integer delimiter.
950.000 = 950000
950,000 = 950

Next step: get the metric systems neanderthals. ;D

I'm well aware of that, thank you.  I was not stating that the delimiter itself was an error, rather that truncating everything after the delimiter was an error.  Unfortunately, this affects everyone, as either method (950,000 or 950.000) truncates everything after the delimiter.

The British use it as a decimal point and use the comma for every three numbers as well, Ie:

1,000
10,000
100,000
1,000,000

like that.

in the netherlands it's like this:

the market rates have dropped by 7,5%("," insteed of a ".")
and you won $1.000.000("." insteed of a ",")

it's really the other way around
