Title: Tying block directions to a key
Post by: Seawied on June 08, 2011, 12:46:23 am
Two questions
1) Is tying a specific block direction (i.e.: downblock) to a key via macro or some other method legal. This would mean that instead of using your movement keys or mouse to block, you would have to press a single key, like "1."
2) If, and only if, it is legal, how would you go about implementing it?
Please only respond if your opinion on the matter has any sort of official influence or knowledge of the matter.

Can't be done.

You can set blocking to 'controlled by movement keys' but then you become a bit robotic and predictable, i'm pretty sure it is possible to find some macro program which could translate key presses into a generic mouse movement (left, right, up, down). Not sure if that would be okay though.

You could use autohotkey to do it. I have no idea how but I know it's possible.

This. I've done mouse-movement and clicks on single keypress with AutoHotkey in games a few times. If they accept it here or not I'm not sure, but check it out at http://www.autohotkey.com/ (http://www.autohotkey.com/) nifty tool for any gamer for tricky keybinds and small scripts. Not that proficient with it myself, so won't write you a guide (far to long between each time I use it), but check the guide sections there, not that tricky with some research.

What would be the fun in playing if you can just hotkey all your blocks.....
