my idea is that when you retire or make a new char, that you have to choose a class, which has limitations, like a onehander can't have polearms, neither can a twohander(maybe the pike and long spear) so everyone will have somewhat of a balanced build, hybrids can still be usable, but no triple hybrids.
i don't know how specified the classes should be(lancer or arab lancer and european lancer). if it is the last one, maybe we could change repair costs for classes. like that the cataphract horse has less repair costs for the arab lancer than for the european lancer and so on.
HA's could get a nerf by not being able to use all horses, like they can't use armored ones(except cataphract) and coursers, destriers, arabs. because a HA wasn't a rich warrior. this would make the mod less attractive for HA's because i think atm there are to many people that are going HA. and being HA is fine but that you can keep up with a knight? i don't think that's fine. they should be more infantrie aimed.
people hat HA's because they can take on any class and still 90% of the time they win a fight without even being hit once!
this idea makes the cavalry atleast able to run from HA's and still have their horse with more than 10% HP.
my idea makes the game more balanced and realistic.
think, post, disscus!

a better way of getting less HA's is just make all bows/xbows unusable on horse.

but HA is and stays a class and if they would want to change that, they would've done that already

I don't like it. Sounds too much like Native with your proposed restrictions, except in Native, a shielder could use a pike, so could a two-hander. cRPG is becoming too restrictive in the freedom it gives players to customize as it is. I'm all for balance, but not like this, no thanks.

the resttrictions are mostly for the HA, you can still be a hybrid.
give me an example what you can't be with my idea(except a dirty bitchass HA that owns everyone!)

how many nerfs do HA's need?
lots of people try HA, few succeed.
when im not HA i have no prob dealing with 90% of HA's.
it's the 10% of people who are really skilled who make everyone think HA is such a strong class.

Lame idea. Classes shouldn't be forced, they should come about naturally through realistic item stats and correct gold costs.
Part of the reason HA's are effective is horse maneuver and the radius you can turn while shooting from horseback. Both need to be decreased to realistic levels. Not sure if the shooting radius is alterable.
Also, the reticle is too easily shrunk for them I'm assuming.

Bad idea. Would you just stop whining about Horse Archers? Very irritating :)

so if only 10% of all HA's make people think HA's are OP and make all the bad thoughts about them gone, they surtainly are!

Class restriction is definitely a bad idea.
People should be able to play what they want.
-
they can, you obviosly didn't read it right :?
-
I voted no.
While I understand that the OP is trying to help with suggestions towards balancing the game, more restrictions would be a contradictory proposition to what the great creator, chadz, originally intended for us. (In my opinion!)
chadz and cRPG - a lovestory! (http://forum.c-rpg.net/index.php/topic,486.0.html)
My characters have tons of 'sets' of armors and weapons to match up together, be it chains or plate or cloth. My weaboo wears a katana (2H) and wakizashi (1H) for cosmetic purposes, if restrictions were set in, that means will I not be able to wear my wakizashi?
It's the freedom (and part grinding/competition :?) that made cRPG so appealing to me, I can dress my characters the way I want unlike some MMOs always have these class restrictions and "lvl requirements".

ok guys, apperently you don't like it and i'm fine with that :)
