NA was always filled with idiots and I laughed at how badly they played, then demolished them repeatedly. Was weird playing with such a high ping and still doing better than on any EU server. I suppose that's what happens when your opponents are so dumb. Kind of the same way I always felt about you.

IIRC you were typically a cav player and spent most of your time running away and looking for people to stab in the back.  Nothing to brag about.

Nah I mostly played against other cav, and they were fucking terrible. Great Lance nabs had apparently never realized they could easily be outranged with heavy lance. You'd figure cav vs cav fights where even a small diff in ping can make a huge diff would've offset that, but it didn't. Prob all that fat and grease lowers reflexes. Even when dehorsed on foot as 1H/shield I did way better than on EU.

I remember you playing on NA, and I can confirm that you played quite well even on foot. I'm not sure, but I think your ping was somewhere around 120, which really isn't that bad - not that it matters as much when playing cav. I have to agree with Gallonigher about wrecking with cav in NA not being that impressive, and although you were competent on foot, it was definitely nothing to brag about. It bears mentioning that the competitive mindset has long been dead on the NA server, but that's not to say there aren't still good players, of course.

I still enjoy this mod sometimes despite its flaws, which is why I continue playing. I'm definitely in the "wipe" camp, because it's the only chance at getting this game bustling & competitive again. Even if the chance is small, it's better than this cycle of temporary death/weak revivals full of shitty strat battles that involve nothing but chasing nakeds around a city fief designed for a 50v50 with 30 players TOTAL.

cRPG needs more tryhards. There's a place for fucking around, but when it's 24/7 buffoonery it loses its comedic value and just ends up making the game shit. This is why I want to see another duel tournament, with ACTUAL coherent management. In fact, get capable & trustworthy members of the community together from EU AND NA to hold their own respective duel tournaments at the same time. Imagine the wipe actually happens, and THAT gets announced shortly after. I think cRPG would be fucking lit again, but the powers that be are too comfortable with the state the mod is in, even though it's been proven time and time again that this is nothing but a weak flame barely avoiding fizzling out day by day.

Competition is fun, we're pretty much all males in this community and a yearning for competition is fucking built in to us. This is how shitty games like CS:GO, TF2 and Fortnite stay popular: people are incentivized to be competitive. Bring back the competitive spirit of cRPG, and you will save the mod. That's a BILLY MAYS guarantee right there.

Wow, well said Rando. I'm a strat tryhard if its any consolation and for the first time since playing this mod, I see a direct correlation to the battles Acre has set up (and HoC, y'all have been great so far) and the life of the servers. Its great to see yet also terrifying because those battles seem to be the main thing that drives people to play at this day and age.

Pretty sure he gets around 160 ping to NA vs my 230, but I consider that pretty even considering I've played with the lag far longer than he has.

That was on the older servers way back when. Ping was between 160-190, depending, to Kadeth's 220 or so I think. In retrospect I should prob have played a bit before the duel, but oh well, I don't even mind losing to Kadeth. If it was someone I hated it would be a diff story.
