Is there Anyway to get inverted block directions? You know, Block by Inverse mouse movement?
I really want to find out a way of doing this. If I end up having to buy a programmable mouse/joystick or using some emulating program that is disappointing. Also, I would have to worry about that appearing as a false-positive autoblock hack.
So, Is there Any way possible to get inverse mouse blocking? I want to move my mouse left to block my right side, etc.
-
I was certain this was in options, the same option that allows you to block using the movement keys.
"block by mouse movement"
"block by inverted mouse movement"
"block by movement"
Maybe it's only for attacking though.
-
Yes its only for attacking directions.
I think if you know where to look at, you can invert the block directions by tweaking it directly in the game files.

If there is a way to edit game files and still be able to play, then sure.
I don't know anything about if that is feasible or if it would be compatible to a pure server check for integrity on the more important files. If there even is one.

For what reason would you try inverted block directions?

For what reason would you try inverted block directions?
I play with inverted attack directions but not block directions, and it has been really messing up my chambering. If they were both inverted I would be able to chamber much easier. I used to chamber really well before switching to inverted attack directions, since a right chamber and a right block are the opposite direction, it fucks my mind up.
It would also help me with blocking regularly. I die somewhat often to players not because I block the wrong direction, but that they are stepping around my block by swinging one way and stepping the other, forcing you to look away from where they are stepping. If I had inverted block directions I would be able to follow good player's movement better and die significantly less.

For what reason are you playing on inverted attack directions?
-
Lol... You do seem to look after trouble. :D
-
Surely it would make more sense to use both normally lol :)
-
I use inverted attack directions as well, as I find them more intuitive.

Me too.
I think you can completly inverse you mouse maybe, but that's probably not what you want.
-
More intuitive? What do you excactly mean?

You move your mouse to the left and you swing to the left, as opposed to default swinging from the left that is going to slice right.
Inverting attack directions helps in that if I move my mouse left, my sword arm moves left, so on so forth, and thus my character actions mimic what I am doing in real life.
-
In inverted, doesn't it mean that if you left swing ( with the mouse) and do a right swing ( in the game) ?
-
Plus with inverted mouse attack you actually move into your swing more often so your swing is going in the same direction as you are moving and you get quicker swings and more speed bonus. I alternate between the two several weeks at a time, but I actually find the non-inverted more intuitive and comfortable for me, mostly because blocks are done in the same way and are not inverted.
Yes, polobow thats what happens, but tears is talking about where his weapon is heading a left shift of the mouse does a right swing but the blade crosses over to the left side of the screen with a right swing.

Yes! <333

All that reverse stuff sounds very confusing, I simply use my mouse to block and my keys to attack. I doubt many people play like that though.

You mean the same keys you use to move your character left-right forward-back?? That seems like it would kind of mess things up.
-
So is there anyway the game can be modded for inverse attack and inverse block directions? it is way more intuitive and fluid, at least to me.
I'd love a dev to post on this issue with any info they may have.
-
I would need that for the attack directions as well.
I love the inverted sideswings, but for stabs i prefer the default setup.

Ye the same keys, I doubt there is much advantage to it, just what I'm used to though.
-
So does anyone have any idea on how to get inverted block directions?
or am I just going to have to live with not being able to chamber sides reliably, and die to blocks because it looks the wrong direction camera wise.

You get used to it.
-
You get used to it.
3 months.
For 3 months I've been trying to get it all correct.
It is stupid. There should just be an inverse block option.
Every time that I die because I correctly blocked but the camera makes me turn away from their attack (even so slightly) and I die? Yeah I get really disappointed at something that should not happen.
They way the game mechanics work, inverse attacks and blocks is more intuitive and fluid.

Oh, now i get it. So when you move your mouse left, you slashed a right swing with your mouse. I see.
But i still don't see any advantages in inverted attacks than by normal ones.
-
As they said, the advantage is that you turn faster into the swing.
And Marathon: experienced players do this stepping around exactly because they know that you will have to turn the other side a little. Maybe you could also try to do it? It's also the main reason I die in duels.
I think controlling attack/block direction with keys is the only way to avoid this problem, sadly.

If i could bind them to other keys that weren't my moving keys, I would do that for blocking. Footwork is too important to hand over to the enemy on a platter every time they swing. None of the top duelists use movement keys for a lot of reasons.
I am aware of how sidestepping blocks works, why it works. I can do it, but that does not make it any less stupid.
I Know I am probably just going to ~Deal with it~ but, If I don't even try to discuss about possible other solutions I would be letting myself and others down.
