I still haven't watched the s1 finale... watched all the other episodes though. Just kinda got real boring and predictable. Maybe I'll finish it by the time season 2 drops to give it another shot.

Honestly Jona, what's the point of only watching 9 episodes?

IKR, I'm hoping that spacing the episodes out to once a week will make it go by faster.  :|

Well yah see, when a show gets predictable, it gets boring and becomes less interesting. Hence, I dropped it. Idk, maybe I only watched 8 instead of 9, but either way, it wasn't original enough to keep me invested. I kept holding out hope that it'd get better, but alas, it never did.

I had a hard time believing some characters decisions nearing s1 finale, but overall enjoyed the show tremendously.
My biggest regret is that I totally forgot to turn my brain on on some episodes. This show isnt easy to follow.

The music and setting for me in the first season were so well done that it helped me overlook some things that others found annoying. The groundhog day feel of the opening sequence I also loved.

Murderous son of a bitch named Hector Escaton gunned down the marshal. He's holed up in the mountains.

There's a difference between not understanding a story and quitting due to its complexity, and quitting because the presented story is not very interesting.

Overhyped first season, but will watch because:
- iama nerd
- it's free
- while not great there are worse shit airing that's popular

It's bit dull and predictable but still prefer it to stuff like GoT or Walking Dead.

What I really want to see is more True Detective and Expanse.

TD season 1 was great, but I heard season 2 was awful so didn't watch. Bosch is another great show along the lines of TD.

I liked both. They are very different but imho TD S2 is better than most police/crime shows out there. For example, people think highly of Narcos and I wasn't amused. Few good episodes, rest is meh. TD S2 problem is TD S1 which is among top 3 TV dramas ever alongside Sopranos and Breaking Bad.

First season of True Detective is basically retelling of Twin Peaks, set in different setting and going on with different theme but basics are the same. Small town with ordinary people living their ordinary lives when inexplanable crime happens. Outsider comes to solve the case only to find out that citizens of the small town aren't so ordinary as it seemed at first glance. Same can be said for most of Steven Kings work as well.

Second season is a bit different because corruption is not that occult in nature, but is mostly your typical money/politics related corruption which means the second season of TD isn't so otherwordly like the first.

What differentiates Twin Peaks from TD and the likes is Lynch branded weirdness which is pretty peculiar and hard to explain but you know it once you see it. Twin Peaks is weird and thus hard to swallow for mainstream much like the other Lynch work, Eraserhead, Dune etc.

Twin Peaks is unbearably cheesy. I watched it to about halfway through s2 and honestly can't understand why people rate it that high.

This season had been like a 6 or 7 out of 10 for me before last episode. This recent ep gets a 10/10 from me and I am really looking forward to the finale now.
