Why are so many people playing it lately, does it give better XP or something, or do people just enjoy iit?

Why are so many people playing it lately, does it give better XP or something, or do people just enjoy iit?
It gives roughly a guaranteed x4/5 on average. And the hefty reward at the end is also pretty attractive if you ask me. While I'm not a fan of the gamemode itself (well, lets face it, it's about grinding), it's an easy way to get some XP and gold without tryharding.

Was playing eu1 earlier with my archer build, on my team were a bunch of randomers, quite a few ranged and mid armor guys with various builds, we were trying to work together using the voice command functions. On the other team were the usual hero clan stacking nerds with big 2 hand swords, we lost like 10 rounds in a row, after that I just went to dtv. I did manage one kill tho, after firing about 7 arrows into some 2hander with my highly overpowered +3 longbow and +3 bodkins, we should really nerf ranged, totally unbalanced.

Well, if I join DTV, people at least show some effort to work together.
On EU1 I see the same shit every round every day. Round starts, team mindlessly starts running an entire lap around the map while not looking left and right and when the fastest guys reach our own spawn again without having done anything useful, the entire team is split across the map so far that they easily get picked off by ganks one by one.
I am not really sure what stimulus is triggering this compulsive-disorder among the average crpg specimen but it is truly remarkable that people still do it to this day. Needless to say, pointlessly running over open fields makes it skeet shooting for enemy ranged while your own ranged cant counter attack, since they would have to stop moving for a few seconds to gain some accuracy, which then makes them fall behind the running melee blob even further ( where they get picked off by cav or the enemy melee blob ).

cRPG in general is very toxic environment and DTV serves like a remedy to all toxicity that piles up after few hours of playing EU1. At least that's how it worked on me in the past.

Problem is I would call that "tryharding for xp", I mean it's 2018 and people still grinding. There's not much other reason to do it, only a few boring farts could actually enjoy DTV, it's dull as fuck. I'd rather get shot to death by 20 archers on Eu1 than waste my time on DTV.

Also, just nerf XP/gold for DTV, then we would see just how many people actually enjoy DTV and are not just try hard grinding.
