Title: the_prison (siege, dungeonmap)

The Prison:

Since i've never seen a siege-dungeon map, i decided to build one on myself.
It's completly indoor and has 3 different ways to get to the flag. one of those is very short and has to be opened via a wrinch first.
I spend some hours testing it for bugs and i'm almost certain now, noone will fall through any walls or floors.
Spawnpoints are also tested.
The map itself should provide some nice fights, cause i tried to keep the distances short.

Patchnotes 1.1:

- removed the old stairs and replaced them by normal ones. should work fine now.
- added text to walls, so ppl can find the flag and see if they are attacker or not more easily.
- changed some floors

I'd like to play this! It is just kinda hard to make out what it looks like from that one screen shot alone.

as soon as i've filled in some details, i'll post more screens from the inside. but atm it's just empty corridors with torches, not very interessting to look at. :)

hm.. looks epic, but I think as cavalry I'm gonna hate that map. Is there no possibility to change it and make everything acessible for horses?

Welll....cavalry and siege werent meant for each other lol.

But the map looks extremely well planned, and well organised. Loads of detail, from what i can see.

Ive made and played a few indoor maps like this for native, and as long as all the corridors are connected to one another with no little gaps which you can see through, and sometimes teleport through this map looks extremely good, and i cant wait to test it.

Great job man.

For a little extra colour, you could put a cage with a prisoner in the flag room. As if they're "rescued" if the attackers pull the flag.

i've just tested it, in most corridors you could use a horse, although i don't think they make much sense in the narrow corridors.


For a little extra colour, you could put a cage with a prisoner in the flag room. As if they're "rescued" if the attackers pull the flag.

i like it, i'll play with that idea :)

so far i fixed some bugs, where the walls didn't connect properly. the spawns seem to work correct. the only thing that anoyes me, is that the dungeon-tower-stairs-model (only 2 used) doesn't work smooth.
but its acceptable. i think i'll release the map in the next few days. finished it !

the map is free to use for everyone of course, but i'll definitly ask leiknir to put it on eu siege, cause that's where i play :)

other problems:
1. New players don't really know, if they are attackers or defenders(a gate for the attackers ?).
2. Something seems to be wrong with this map/our setup, it totally fucked up our server cfgs and spammed errors.
3. The stairs are very buggy, you are stuttering while walking over them.
4. Some clanmates, noticed me about places, where you can fall out of the map...


good points:

- good design
- nice idea
- many details

with some tweaking it could become a nice map.

first of all, thx for the feedback!

- fixed the scenes.txt

to 1.
attackers are always on the right side of the teamscorescreen you get with tab :)
the gate is to delay the attackers for some time, so the defenders have more time to rush to the gateroom. i'll try to think of something else.
maybee also write some messages with bones on the walls :)

to 2.
can you give me the errorlog? maybe i can figure out where to look, otherwise i have no idea where to start, cause it seems to work fine on the eu_siege servers.

to 3.
i'll try to improve them as zagibu said, thx for the idea. if i fail, i'll replace them with something else. i have no clue with what, but i'll find something :)
my first idea was, that those stairs prevent the attackers from rushing through this way cause it takes some time. but i can understand that those are just too anoying.

to 4. i'd be glad if you could tell me where exactly those places are so i can fix them. tested the map with 5 ppl lately and we couldn't find any.
