Title: Helmet animation : opening

Some helmets had a detachable part that could be opened to show the face and be identified by others, to be more comfortable while not fighting or just to breathe easy... Klappvisier or armet are good at that.
This custom has become the modern military salute.

visitors can't see pics , please register or login





Ridiculous detail for some...

Grueling work for the developper team for others...


Neat feature for me : you could use it to show in clan battle, duel server, joust, or whaterver WHEN you are ready to fight and when you are not ( kind of replace the upblock/downblock in terms of visual meaning ), or it could just add a little depth to the possible behavior ingame and other gestual convention that make their way in the game.
Those that like to have a bit of roleplay in cRPG and to adapt some real life medieval era way of life should like it.


The idea is to have a keyboard button to open/close helmets and to add it to the helmets in the database that could realistically have it.

If it was to be done, details of the animation (fluidity, lenght, etc...), possibility to spam it or not, auto-opening/auto-closing without the hands or not, adding the hand salute optional/mandatory/not, are totally up to those in charge.

I love all roleplaying fluff ideas like this, so fully supported. But how about making all helmets start open at the start of a round and give zero armor if your brutally stabbed in the face by my bamboo spear with it open?  :twisted:

Only kidding,

Don't forget strange armors, too! If this feature will ever be implemented, hopefully we can choose to take on/off the masks on those weaboo hats  8-) (Instead of having to purchase 2 helmets for each type of strange armors)

When a character reloads a crossbow, there is this animation which makes the character pulling back his helmet in place, like if it had fallen over his eyes when stooping. The same animation could be used when pulling up and down the faceguard.

i have btter idea: bind the visor to any key, that when u presses it changes from visored mode to visor opened mode..the open visor could reduce head armor but provide less penalty due to head armor..

A minor detail but would be great whether it was given a true function such as armbrust suggested or not. I doubt its worth the time and effort but I would still love such an idea, +1

add remove helmet animation, where a character can drop a helmet.
