Releases soon. Picked it up on pre-order for PS4. They brought back EASHL for this one, one of my favourite game modes ever in a sports game. Also feels like this version is a noticeable improvement on last year. Though I haven't played a whole lot yet.

Only just started and my first 4 games were pretty shit but getting into the grove now. Had a 2 goal and a 3 goal game yesterday, first hat trick.

Me and some buddies got an EASHL team going if anyone wants to join hit me up!

The NHL games have always been the best yearly EA pump out sports game produced, they simply look and play better than the rest, especially FIFA which I guess is the alternative. Also more biast since I enjoyed playing Hockey as a kid / teen, more than football. I only have EA sports games on my PS2 though as I have the most controllers for it and a group of friends don't need better graphics to have fun :D

NHL 2004 is the one I have, compare that to FIFA 2004 and oh boi, you can see who cares the most.

Just look at the differences in graphic, this summer I dusted off my PS2 and had a little tournament with some friends on both games (normie alert), and oh boi FIFA looks fucking horrible.

Yeah the NHL series has been great for a long time. I think I started playing it in 98.

The recent ones have made great leaps in the controls that are used. You can get very close to complete functionality now. The game really simulates a near perfect hockey experience.

The EASHL game mode is excellent.
-Play one position on the team
-Team plays month long seasons and based on performance you get knock out playoffs at the end
-Player levels up with XP based on performance, positioning, team play

Makes for a persistant NHL character experience online that I really enjoy

NHL is the only sports game where humans playing all the players on the ice/field is viable and fun

I played NHL games in the period from 1999-2003 so much that I knew almost every god damn player in it and knew all the game commentator's lines.

John Le Clair and Peter Bondra were my favorites wingers, Ron Hextall was my favorite goalie (and some other veterans after he retired, like Barrasso and Fuhr). Philadelphia Flyers my favorite team.
