Do they count as soup? I always thought of chowders as being a similar category to stew, chunks of deliciousness in broth.
Someone probably going to blow my mind and point out that stew's technically soup or something.
They count as soup, at least clam chowder. I think the line is how liquid it is, and by that logic everything can be a soup, stew or casserole etc. Or maybe the hardline is that soup is only water flavored with food and / or vegetables :| :?:
We got any professionally trained chefs that can chime in?

Would also recommend salmon chowder to any soup fans. DO NOT go to SeaBear for any of your smoked salmon chowder needs though, I used to sell it, it's overpriced tourist crap.

Bump. Winter soup season is comin up fast gents. What soup will you be feasting upon this winter?
I know I am gonna make a big batch of potato bacon cheddar onion this week.
