Title: Events? Yay? Nay? Dupre?
Post by: Tristan_of_Erzoth on June 17, 2017, 02:05:17 am
hey
whats up
I can run tourneys if there is enough interest and we get an event server up and running. IDK how rewards would work but I'm assuming we would be able to do like its done in the past (looms + xp + titles + epeen). Is there an interest in this? Let me know

I was thinking there would/could be two events a month. THe first one would be a smaller one with obviously smaller prizes. Like maybe a few free for all rounds or a DTV thing and that would be on the second weekend of the month. The last event would be a weekend long tournament (1v1, 2v2, 3v3, jousting, etc). Thoughts?

I hate it when people uglify the language and use some "yay" and "nay" shit. I mean, come on, can't you just type properly? Is grammar too hard to learn? Anyway, on the topic - I vote да, that would be великолепно.

ye, but I think one tourney per month is enough, makes it more important

Yeah, twice a month and the events would lose their appeal However if each event was distinctly dissimilar you might be able to still attract a decent chunk of the community on a regular basis

You uncultured swine. Don't you realize that "yay" is the word used in old/middle English to mean, "yes"? It is a real word, though archaic, to denote a positive response -- you foolish flop. It's use in this context, a medieval sim game, harkens back to an older, richer time of greater honor, higher morals, and lack of running water.
Likewise, you dory dopus, the word "nay" is an archaic yet perfectly grammatical alternative to the word "no" and has nothing to do with the sound a horse makes...unlike you, you extemporaneous equine ignoramus.
Therefore, rather than "uglifying" the language, the use of these words instead call to mind an earlier, more noble time and rekindles the depth and beauty of the very language you use to eat your breakfast cereal, you superfluous serpentine sack-monger. Well, now you know.

Beat me to it. As soon as I saw Penitent calling someone else out for being uncultured I had to take action... the irony was too great to resist. :D

I will accept the correction and healthy dose of irony with dignity...may heaven never allow me to stumble in such a way again.
However, the accusation of "uglifying" the language included the alleged misuse of both "yay" and "nay" which leads me to believe both words were in question, and their original uses (spelling not included) were misunderstood or unknown.
I will leave my original post as is, as an act of humility and record of my fallibility while I continue to ride around on my high horse.

Should do an event using that GK tdm map that has hot air balloons and limit it to ranged only shooting each other from the balloons.

That's some good moral authority for the true faith right there.

You know what, I'll just back away from what I've said in the previous post and say it wasn't really my opinion and I only typed it for the sake of a joke, leaving you wondering if I really meant it or it was indeed just a build-up for the "да" thing to make it funny. You all are expected to be extremely confused about that whole thing at this point.

Who da fack runs a tourney with a max of 20 entrants?
32 x 50,000 is 1,600,000 plus 200k from me for prizes. 70% of that for first is about 1,260,000 which is about 1mil potential just 200k for first place
