I loved both Thor movies and looks like this one will be no exception. I am hearing that Dr Strange will be in this one too.

Marvel trash, if only fresh material was profitable. Sequels and spinoffs, its just like the videogame market. Except that B movies are basically gone, so the indie genre isnt there.

You do know that all their movies are linked and moving toward one goal right? I bet you think DC is hitting it out of the ballpark.

These movies I just can't get into them. They aren't really bad just not great.

I know their basic formula for movies isn't artsy or deep but they make damn fine popcorn movies. Good balance of action and humour.

This. Anyone who hates on these movies must be real fun at parties. I'm not expecting to enter the movie theater of a marvel movie and come out contemplating the meaning of life, a changed man. I go see marvel movies cuz they are a fun romp through space/time/multiple dimensions with larger-than-life characters, decent action sequences and flashy backdrops. Imo the Thor series has been one of their weaker ones thus far, but this one is shaping up to be something different, so here's to hoping them mixing in the hulk (and any other rumored heroes) works out.

I wouldn't be able to sleep. The thought that they dragged the hobbit out for 3 shitty movies is enough to make my blood pressure rise enough to play an extra in a bad japanese horror movie.

The new thor movie looks entertaining though. I don't expect anything but some humor and cool scenes out of them. To expect more is expecting too much from these kind of movies. If they were trying to make it into something more but failing then I can understand but they're not.

So just relax and enjoy the show.

Watching dumb movies or watching naked women doing sexual things? I think I know what is my poison when it comes to relaxing.

Marvel is okay.. It fulfills my expectations as they aren't high anyway. I don't expect them to create legendary movies.

Maybe if you did sexual things with women you would appreciate watching movies like this afterwards.

Nope. I'd rather watch a romcom to please female person next to me than watch this crap. If I want to watch something that suits me and my female compatriot, there is a ton of other things to watch. Like some good anime for example. Some women like watching porn, sounds crazy but is true. Women are sexual beings, who could predict that.

There is no value in these movies for anyone who isn't staunch conformist. Sadly most people are like that, devouring crap like this. Now it's Marvel, in 80s ninja movies, before that mostly westerns. Shit made for your average Joe.

Life is too short to waste it on mass produced garbage that doesn't elevate your mind.

There are three types of hobbies, one of them is complete waste of time. I'm talking about passive hobbies that include no preparation or work of any kind. Proper hobbies are: drawing, painting, gardening, wood sculpting, creative work. That is because hobbies were something only elite could indulge in. Common man had no time, he was basically slaving his day for others. Rich weren't doing manual labor so they had to do something in order to stay physically and mentally fit.

Today hobbies that include work are classified like work and lazy (both mentally and physically) man's hobbies are valued. When I don't earn money by doing something I'm not particularly interested in doing, I spend my free time working on something that makes me happy.

This may be video game forum but I'm here for more than five years, stopped playing this game three years ago and seldom play big screen video games. Times change, just like people.

About Marvel movies, yes I've seen Iron Man and Thor and first Captain America, also Avengers and Hulk and some other. But after I saw Guardians of Galaxy I said enough is enough. It was a pretty crappy movie but that's not the main reason why I stopped watching them. We must draw a line somewhere. The Walking Dead was a great show during first season, and few episodes of second season were okay. But I stopped watching after that. It is obvious that while it is bringing money it will be produced and no one gives a damn about quality. Same goes for these movies. It is important to send them a signal that you've had enough and is time for something different to take a stage.

Quote
If people didn't naturally 'conform' then most people wouldn't have seen The Matrix, when lots of people like something other people are more likely to watch it.

Matrix was nothing but a copycat. Yes I was in awe when I saw it for the first time because tabula rasa was strong in me. But I was living in third world isolated country. Today I'm 18 years older and seen things that predated Matrix and think that Matrix is a pretty damn shitty movie for what it is.

Programming mostly, but I do other creative work on my PC (painting, 3d modeling). Would love to do some carpentry and build a small house but don't have enough money to finance such work atm (which is why I'm trying to make some by freelance programming). Maybe in the future. Although should be noted that I don't have physically demanding job, otherwise there is no way I'd be able to have any hobby because of tiredness.

So yeah, currently working on my PC but in the future would love a small workshop to do some real physical work. My role models in life are older generations, mostly polymaths from period of Renaissance. Truly believe that current generation we all belong to, so called generation Y or millennials, will not be remembered in history as great generation. There are many similarities between millennials and people who lived in Sodom and Gomorrah as depicted in Bible. Which is obviously not a very good sign.

@Chris Pratt Cool dude, changed his body from fatso to jacked. Should be a role model to modern american youth.

Speaking of, Guardians of the galaxy 1 was actually decent. 2 however looks absolutely horrible. God i hate sequels, remakes and reboots.

The matrix is awesome but very highly rated. I wouldn't say overrated but I have seen it a lot so I don't have much more need to watch it.

Exactly it makes me feel great about being a human battery enslaved by robotic overlords.

Also the original guardians was very entertaining I really hope they don't butcher it

That's true. Matrix was like an iPhone. Touchscreen phones existed before it but iPhone was packaged in such a way your average western consumer has to notice and appreciate. Matrix did the same, incorporated lame ass kung-fu in cyberpunk story that way making it approachable by masses. Wachowski sisters knew exactly what they were doing when they made Matrix.

Matrix was never good, we just weren't exposed to better at that time. Better was there because Matrix wasn't original work, but we didn't know about it.

Edit: I must say when it comes to entertainment and movies in general I feel for Germans and Americans. Germans because of their futile attempts to keep their language relevant in globalized world, thus doing voice overs for foreign movies and shows. Americans because they are so stuck in their belief of being the best at everything, they have to rehash and remake every single successful foreign idea which often ends up being much worse than original but they don't know it or just don't care (Danish TV show Broen comes to mind as great example of this).

Matrix is indeed overrated, I used it as an example because I thought it was worshipped in places such as these.

There are more than enough hours in the day for both types of hobby if you work fairly standard hours. Watching every Marvel movie that comes out still takes up a tiny amount of time over the course of a year compared to the amount of time tv, the Youtubes or Twitch could take up.

Even so there's plenty of time for all of the above, self-improvement focused around your work to get that sweet pay rise and/or promotion, and also hobbies focused around learning skills that will never be your job but that you want to learn simply for the joy of doing it. In the latter category I'm brewing, trying to learn how to animate, video editing, and a small bit of filming + sound in relation to that. Also did a butchery course recently cos cooking is life, probably could have learnt the same things from youtube and a little practice though.

I don't watch Twitch at all, idea of watching others playing video games is strange to me. But youtube, yeah I spend quite some time on it. Not watching that weird ass crap most millennials seem to enjoy for some equally weird reason. Being information junkie and video game aficionado I like to follow what is happening in the industry, watching game trailers  and videos that show how games are being made. Not just Star Citizen but any game that shows intricacies of video game development. Also helps me with my own efforts.

About cooking, that's true art. Ain't touching it because I fear to fuck it up which did happen in the past. Making something stupid like pizza is easy, but anything special is pain to get right. You need ton of experience to make it nice, tasty and unique.

lol this was leaked early too.  So if Thor can channel lightning with his hands and body how the hell does a shock net and a shock device attached to his neck have any affect on him?
