As long as I don´t absolutely immediately need a game, I put it on my wishlist until the next summer/winter sale is coming.

Except Dark Souls 3, I have to wait until july since my bro really wants to watch me play it (he´s been watching me playing the entire ds2+expansions last summer)

Pretty much what I do. I got a ton of games I like to play as well as games on backlog and I usually get them on sale. So if I want a new game, I just put it on the wishlist until I absolutely must have it or a good sale comes up.

I pretty much always get it on the sale.

Social gaming :D it's the best.

Dark Souls 1 was a full-house experience at uni, none of us had played a souls game before so it was 1 player and 6 backseat drivers from start to finish xD

That's always the worst best method when marathoning a game with your buds. You're up first, play for X amount of time in the early, basically-tutorial levels. Then you pass it on to friend 2, then he passes it to friend 3, etc... up until friend 6 is playing it for the very first time and you're already halfway through the game, with enemy difficulty to match.   Never be friend 6. My friends did that for some of the Metal Gear Solid games, and our 'friend 6' was basically shit at any videogame regardless of how much time he's spent on it. We all took a 5 hour nap while he stayed up playing and he literally made no progress.

This time the sale seems pretty weak

I have most of the games I already want (can't play many MP games these days due to my time limitations).

Picked up Banished, Firewatch, KINGDOMS, and Dead State

Looking through all the discounted games and I am struggling to see any single game that I don't have that I am remotely interested in, let's hope some rockets come up.

Was considering getting GTA4 and Sacred 2, but apparently both run like shit or are broken now. Also maybe Dead by Daylight, seems pretty dope actually. A bit competitive, asymmetrical gameplay with horror elements (that are probably nullified after a bit of playing).

Only two deals that are tempting me are Darkest Dungeon and 7 Days to Die.

I don't like purchasing early access games anymore tough.

It's another shitty steam sale. Most of the good games have a small discount.

Skyrim DLC 15 euros each -- quite something for a 5 year old game. Thanks Bethesda.

I'd say it's a pretty good sale, lots of games on big discounts. The problem is that the base prices are too high. 60 yuro -75% is 15 yuro, which is still expensive, at least for my standards. The only games worth buying are really old ones that most people probably already have. I was looking forward to buying certain games, hoping that they'd get at least below 10 yuro, but am disappoint. Either there's some great inflation going on, or Vulve thinks everyone is super rich and willing to pay much dolla for shitty minecraft survival rust open world meme sandbox clones.

Without Steam we would be slaves to uplay and origin. Praise gabin!

DD isn't in early access any more, it's finished product. And awesome game.

Was talking about the other one. It seems nice but it's been in EA for so long now...

Yeah DD is very good but I'm playing Dark Souls 2 (Yes I know, about time!) after getting a good deal from g2a and want to finish it first before trying other games.

Don't buy shit from g2a. Better to pirate.

Well I got Dark Soul 2 Scholar of the first sin for 10 euro from g2a.

I also bought Tales from the borderlands and Zombie Army Trilogy and no issues for the time being. Not my fault for trying to get it cheaper when steam sales have been pretty shit.

If you are gonna get something illegal, why pay for it?

Better to pirate for free than paying for black market keys.

G2A is cheaper than steam. Pirating is cheaper than G2A. You wanna get it legit, buy it from a legit site, if you're gonna get it illegally, then at least be smart enough to get it for free.

How is G2A illegal?

A majority of the keys sold there are stolen/comes from credit card fraud. Buying stolen goods is a illegal.

If that was true those keys would be removed from Steam like Dead Island key I got in trade. Don't jump to conclusion because of one butthurt indie developer.

The site is surely known for having some illegitimate keys, however even greenmangaming and I also believe gog where accused of that too in the past. What I like about g2a is when there's a deal say like humble bundle you can expect some or all of those game keys to be for sale there. If you wait a couple of days the price will go down because too many people try to do the same thing which means it's cheaper for me. I just wait for the prices to go down. Steam sales have been rubbish for over a year now. There's barely any new discounted % on games over what I've seen throughout the year. I miss flash and daily deals.....

Greenmangaming is cheaper than steam too, by that notion it's illegal? I doubt it.

Don't buy from no star people and you should be fine.

gmg and gog are resellers and have deals with publishers. they distribute keys in same way steam does. they are 100% legit.

g2a/kinguin are markets where game keys are sold. they can come from anywhere and anyone can sell them (including me and you). obviously someone got hold of bunch of grey keys, which are mostly used for promotion, given to press. if they were obtained by paying with stolen cc or taken from stolen box shipment (my DI key was like that), valve would remove them by now. they send you red message in inbox to inform you that key was fradulent. if they dont know whos guilty you might end up banned but in cases like mine where key trader fucked over bunch of people from multiple closed accounts (was closed second after we made trade), valve won't bother you.

steam/origin/uplay/gmg/gog = digital store
g2a/kinguin = ebay

Worst that can happen with key resellers is your key getting invalidated. You're the only one losing money in that scenario. Those who get their CC stolen can block and oppose, so I wouldn't worry about them.

The only game I was interested in getting was Warhammer Total War, but of course the creative assembly is too greedy to put that on sale. So the only thing I bought was Star Wars Rogue Squadron 3D for some nostalgia!

99% of game companies and publishers don't disable stolen keys because of logistical and technological reasons. Last time someone big did that (ubishit with far cry 4), they got so much negative PR from it that they are better off just calling it a loss and not get the flak from buthurt kids who bought it on G2A.

And as leshma said: key reseller =//= digital distributor.

But hey. You keep buying from g2a and I'll keep laughing at you for paying people to steal for you.

why not simply buy from steam/gog/an actual shop instead of some internet backalley? You can´t be that broke

if you are, then pirate it

I prefer to support companies if they make good games (also because I´d be hurting the industry I might be working myself one day)

the sales on gog/steam are often already cheap as fuck anyways

I have roughly 100 games in averarge on steam wish list,
from time to time i get me several of these games as 'test' versions.
Only if they turn out to be reeally good and also have multiplayer i later then buy them on a steam sale.

In very rare cases, like once  a year max, i also buy a hyped game as either EA or when it comes out.
Sadly i have often not been very lucky in doing so and wasted so much money by that equally EA and games out of EA, which were hyped and utter bullshit, that i tend to not do that anymore or only if i have extensive "lets play videos" which show me more or less all about the game. One game were i did not regret buying it immediatly was Stellaris of late. Great game, huge mod community and well Paradox shows commitment to improve it.

ÊDIT: gog is great for test versions, but my consumer mentality and weakminded convenience nature brings me back all the time to buy in steam. The integration of chat and voice, the mod workshop and steam forums for each game are all good benefits to me.

I picked up Axiom Verge and Shovel Knight. There really isn't much that hasn't already been on sale countless times before. That or anime, cheap knock-off, dating/management/phone-game sims.

I buy from GMG they seem to have the same discounts as g2a. I even bought that game that got its keys invalidated on gsa from gmg and didn't have my key invalidated.

That's because greenman is legit. They are a digital store, not key resellers.
