Watch out Teamviewers.

Feel free to post similar stuff as it becomes known.

Been to a hacker conference recently. The way them bastards have constantly evolved their ways of screwing you is baffling. All those free "watch full episodes" sites are quite dangerous for example. They are full of click traps and are widely used by tons of people with less than average tech knowledge.

How easy people fall for those traps is evident among Facebook users for example. There was this stupid girl who was showing me a fortune telling app on FB once. Guess it was about 2 years ago or so. It was simply an app that blatantly asked you to click on about 10 different spots on a blank frame and it would then magically give you a daily fortune reading. All the while I was like:

visitors can't see pics , please register or login

Also, yeah, there was a presentation at the said conference specifically warning TeamViewer as well as TeamSpeak users.

Software flaw puts mobile phones and networks at risk of complete takeover.
Code-execution vulnerability resides in code used in cell towers, radios, and basebands.

It won't matter if your phone is of the "i" or android variety or older, they all run the same code in the network or baseband part of the device.

Not every noob could do this however, one would need tools of some sophistication; for example the network spying gear Stingray (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stingray_phone_tracker).
But not necessarily military grade equipment.

Finding a vulnerability like this has long been a concern, especially a flaw that could let an attacker take control of carrier equipment:
