Title: Android games
Post by: Armpit_Sweat on May 19, 2016, 07:31:09 pm
Haven't checked if there is such a topic already, so if there is one - let me know and I will lock this one.
-------------------------
Got myself a Lenovo tablet, and I wonder if there are any decent strategy games for it?.. I obviously didn't buy it for gaming, but since it's a quad core 1.8 with 2gb ram, I presume it can handle something similar to Civilization, Dwarf Fortress / Gnomoria, or may be SimCity?..

I have browsed the default "Google gameshop", and there are few interesting titles ( terraria f.ex. ), but is it really the only place to get Android games from?..

May be someone knows an indie title specifically designed for tablets? I'm interested in a strategy game, as it seems to be something that can work as well as on pc/console.

Thank you in advance! :)

I can wholeheartedly encourage you to get Knights of Pen and Paper 1 and 2.
Great, gorgeous games, the two of them. It's not strategy but nonetheless awesome and funny.

Android games are cancer you've yet to see in person. Stay away, far, far away...

If you still decide against my, most friendliest of all friendly advices, you're about to venture in lands so uncharted you're going to figure out there are certain feelings towards gaming industry that you didn't know you possess. Some of those things you feel when you think of glorious leadship your Motherland has these days, of people who kill children and those who won't let you smoke pot legally. Those kind of feelings.

Anyway, stay away from freemium crap. They are built to steal money from gullible children who have mom CC access...

Pay attention to Humble Bundle. They have Android bundles now and then.

I only play Clash Of Clans + Boom Beach but it's not serious games. Just do some small daily mindless stuff. Nothing serious at all.
Only game I've had played seriously on any android device is One Piece Treasure Cruise. It's a really addicting and nice F2P game.

Plus then there are ''real games'' as well like KOTOR 1, GTA 3, GTA VC, GTA SA, Max Payne etc... that are ported to phones/tablet.

Thanks guys! I'm going to check those out. :)

Not going to install any "free games", as I know how much they can cost in the end - my ex wife used as much money on Dragon City, as I used on all of the Crusader Kings DLCs :) it's, as Leshma put it, a cancer.

I was pleasantly surprised to see Rockstar ports, will definitely get them once I figure out how to connect a PS controller.
