Title: Is it just me or has this general off topic forum changed?

Seems like things have just gone downhill in the past few months. These boards don't lock me in like they used to... All these posts, while meaningless before, have somehow turned extra meaningless!

Maybe it's the lack of clockwork and others like him offending everyone and posting pictures of furry softcore... Or maybe it's the recent lack of muslim threads or the upcoming elections? Or everyone just picking on pepe...

I'm not too sure what it is, but something is different and I want it back to the way it used to be!

These forums need moar controversy, nerd bickering, and vulgar hate typed out into text.


PS: I'm voting for Trump because our political system is a joke and I just want to see the elitist corporate interests who control oil/major news medias lose their shit when one of their groomed public faces doesn't get elected into office. I doubt he could do as much dmg as bush or obama and God knows hilary would just be a complete disaster... Who knows, maybe trump will actually pull a miracle and balance the budget...? Nah.

Can someone please say something controversial about religion or politics before smoothrich posts another video and the forums breaths its last breath and is laid in the ground.

We can wait for Sanders to drop out of the presidential race, that may spawn some interesting threads. I imagine all of the libmy old friends going "b-but muh socialism". Also the total freakout if Trump gets elected will be fun too.

All I'm saying is our quality thread percentage has continued to go down and now it is at an all time low. The most interesting thread on front page is probably tom cruise asking for help/advice for building a new PC :/

That said, Clockwork was just spamming inane and pointless shit. Even with ignore, he was still taking up screen space.

Is this what feminism gets you? They replaced every male character from the team with a female character. If it was a sequel it would be fine but its a reboot. Also its funny that the trailer has more downvotes than upvotes on youtube.

Have no problem with four talented, good looking and funny actresses portraying scientists in Ghostbusters reboot. Bigger issue is why America finds Melissa McCarthy interesting? What makes feminism bad aren't ideas of equality but people who fight for that idea. People like Melissa McCarthy.

I think the niche subcultures that the silent majority of this forum draws from are given to truly caring about things that aren't Trump or Islam.

In the past, we had plenty of orderly, regular forum denizens for the trolls to troll.

How can the trolls troll when there's no one to troll but trolls, though?

It's a difficult job.

Even Xant has given up. His fingers keep typing, but the passion is gone. He's just doing it out of inertia, now.

We're like a dysfunctional family that's stopped arguing around holiday dinners because Aunt Jen (who really gave a shit about your opinions on things) died last year, and now we just text at the table. Sure, there's the occasional half hearted snipe or put down, but we know each other well enough to play the responses in our head, and that's enough, really. That's what family is about- learning not to give a shit about the other person's offensive worldviews and petty attempts at status through conflict.
