Title: Swashbuckler sword
Post by: Bobthehero on March 02, 2016, 01:36:21 am
1h weapon with 2h weapon stats, can't be used with a shield

I suggest you turn the long espada into that, especially considering how shitty it is now with all the patches.

Because the devs have said they don't want to do modern-ish shit. And you'd need the model, which is already there for the Long Espada.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Swashbuckler#Historical_background
"A possible explanation for the term is that it derives from a fighting style using a side-sword with a buckler in the off-hand, which was applied with much "swashing and making a noise on the buckler"

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spada_da_lato
'The spada da lato or "side-sword" is the Italian term for the type of sword popular during the late 16th century, corresponding to the Spanish espada ropera. It is a continuation of the medieval arming sword and in turn the predecessor of the rapier of the Early Modern period.'
Looks like we already have swashbuckler gear- side sword and round steel buckler, just need pistols and the armor- which I don't think is any more modernish than that highlander armor they just added.

No, my own convulted definition of swashbuckling, which is 1h and no shield, adding that kinda weapon would actually make it viable. Ish, 1h animations suck.
