Title: Animation Troubles
Post by: Dionysus on February 24, 2016, 04:59:21 am
Heya folks, I've been having a lot of trouble with animations, and I'm wondering if there are any solutions. The biggest problem is  that I am not seeing what my character is actually doing. I get stuck holding blocks when I'm actually swinging, or I am not swinging at until I see the actual swing going out. I am also seeing the swing change which direction it's coming from when I'm holding the attack to when I let go. This happens with all melee weapons and shields. Is this a latency issue? Graphics too high? WSE2? It's been happening for a long time now, but I'm just now noticing it impacting my performance. Any help would be appreciated.

I'd say try turning settings down, easy thing to try, see if that helps. Then maybe look into packet loss (a number of tests will show up on google if you search for "packet loss test"). My old place would get ridiculous packet loss intermittently which would lead to issues in game consistent with high ping (even though my ping showed stable- high jitter, large packet loss) anything over 0% is cause for concern and will affect MP games, streaming, and calls for contacting your ISP and working it out. Beyond that I have no clue.

Definitely seems similar to the issues I used to have when I had a shitty connection with really high packet loss. Definitely look into that. You can go into your control panel and ping the server and it'll tell you how many pings made it through, so it can give you an estimate of the percent of information not making it.
