I was just doing some maintenance on my sword which I got a year ago on a medieval fair (had to clean it from some rust) and I was wondering:
How does the equipment of this community look like? Do you own a sword, bow or even some kind of armor? Show me your RL inventory!

I used to do modern reenactment, now I'm thinking about XIV-XVth century. Shit is expensive tho, hard to split money for both cars and swords  :D

Not my picture, but its the same sword, the one I have is in bad shape because I left for the whole summer and it gets pretty humid here, and then I moved in my apartement and neglected it further more, a darn shame, really.

I also a modern bow and a wall hanger.

i own a pretty shitty replica longbow with a 55lbs draw.

i had it in the pic with all my gernz, you can just make out it resting in the top right with a stringer on it.  You can see the string looped near it on the floor.

5 Metal decorative cheap ass metal replica swords somewhere in storage.

1: Poorly balanced, grip is meant for halflings that would use it as very heavy and long slashing 1h'er.

2: LOTR:Sting(halfling grip size, but actually not that bad balance, can stab through a 8cm(~3 inches) phone book that rests on a wooden plank with "chubby untrained geek and computer nerd muscle usage"--- test occasion is roughly 12 years old.

3-5: 45$ decorative weaboo set: Katana, Wakizashi, Tanto replicas (aka. cut up bend and rust friendly Iron rails with decorative plastic, wood and cloth)
Balance is catastrophic, I would expect a a flanged mace to have balance closer to the grip.

The "katana"(sometimes combo with the "wakizashi") was actually quite decent to use for wrist and lower arm warm ups before/during 20+hrs computer gaming marathons about a decade ago.

Had a wooden Katana carved out by my father, then I broke it in half so my father transformed it into wooden Wakizashi.

I wanted to get a sword but never had the money, now I do  :D.  Do you recommend any blacksmiths?  I fell out with my renaissance fair buddies and don't remember the good sword makers.

A small part of my and wifes collection. We also got spears, gauntlets, buckler, rondell daggers and misc armor pieces. I've also built a catapult, a trebuchet and a ballista.

EDIT: A mace as well.

Don't own anything yet but I'd love to own a halberd at some point. Like those more than swords. Not just yet but at some point I'll pick one up. Although I dont know where to get them without it being a cheap knockoff. Not like I want to use it in real combat (lol lets be serious I do) but it would be nice if it was legitimate instead of a cool looking decoration.
