Title: Should the staff let me nerf New Dhirim? Poll inside.

Everybody knows New Dhirim is a stupid ass overpowered map. I propose that I edit the map to nerf the keep and give the new version to the staff and they can upload it as the new map for Strategus battles. Vote on the poll to show your opinion.

There should be another way into the keep. It would still be easily defendable if the defenders arent retarded.

Instead of nerfing the map, add some sort of throw-able fire bomb.

If that doesn't work, then yes, the keep should have a second entrance into it.

If you nerf Dhirim u better nerf alot of other maps also! Cant just do it for 1 map that has been around for 6 strats.

What he said. Derchios Castle is just as fucked as Dhirim IMO. Chances are if it's a castle or a city it will need to be reviewed for fuckery.

Would a tower work?  Anyone ever set up a couple catapults and fire directly into the doorway?  I've only fought in it once, so I have no clue.

I think catapults are the solution to this problem. It's easy to push the defenders to the keep, then just force them to stay in there and build a catapult in front of it.

I dont think anyone's tried. Its a pretty narrow area in that spot plus catas are fucked when they break so that would bug the area itself right outside the keep. Its a interesting idea though.

A tower does not though. People have tried with ladders and invisible walls everywhere.

That's true. Got those slits above the entrance where archers can shoot freely. Could put some ladders up but they couldn't block all the spots so yeah archers and crossbowmen would make short work of it even if the melee defenders can't get to it.

Based on my experience defending the city, I think a neat way to balance things out is to add a destructible door or pathway into the keep, but this location has loopholes (the castle sort of loophole (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arrowslit), not a glitchy exploit) that flank it on either side. This means that the attackers can try to infiltrate the keep through this second passageway, but a well prepared defending army could slow them down with a deadly crossfire if they're smart enough to hold that position. Consequentially, this would divert the bulk of the defending ranged players and give some more breathing room to the attacking force, wether they are actively assaulting the second passage or keeping the defending army occupied enough on that front with a few footmen to divert their attention.
Of course, this will probably never be implemented, but I thought it was a neat idea anyway.

lol it would actually be incredibly easy for me to change the map like that, and to change any of the other maps. the complication is getting the community to not bitch about the changes, and getting Dupre/Fips to upload my map changes

Only way to win Dhirim against competent enemy is to send ninjas straight to the keep and get  them to cap flags and t hen rush to reinforce then, OR just grind ticks down. I voted for 7 days a week dhirim battles cuz I normally get 3:1 or greater KDRS almost every time i play there, unless retard teamates block my downswings or dumb AI buys no mauls
