HAVE YOU BEEN PLAGUED BY THE EVIL HIGH PING OF DEATH FROM THE SHITTY ISP KNOWN AS VIRGIN MEDIA RECENTLY?

IF SO YOU HAVE COME TO THE POTENTIAL SOLUTION TO YOUR HIGH PING OF DEATH
STEP 1: GO FIND YOUR ROUTER
STEP 2: UNPLUG THE BLACK CABLE THAT POWERS IT, IF YOU CAN'T FIGURE SHIT OUT, TAKE A PICTURE OF THE DAMN THING AND UNPLUG EVERYTHING (picture is so you know where to put the plugs back)
STEP 3: WAIT 10 SECONDS, I DON'T KNOW WHETHER IT FUCKING DOES ANYTHING JUST DO IT
STEP 4: PLUG THE SHIT BACK IN AND WAIT FOR YOUR INTERNET TO BE BACK
AND THERE YOU HAVE IT, YOUR SHITTY PING IS FIXED, PRAISE BE TO YELDUR

DISCLAIMER2: this is actually a method that could work, I've done it and it worked.

That is exactly what any crappy ISP call center guy will tell you to solve any possible problem. First time I ever see that it actually works for someone.

Well, considering EVERYONE was having the EXACT same issue as me at EXACTLY the same time and ONLY with the Virgin Media ISP, I figured the correlation between the three would mean that the thing that solved my problem, would solve everyone else's, reasonable assumption, no?
And don't underestimate the power of a restart, the reason the "crappy call center" guy tells you to do it is because it CAN work lol, anyone I know in IT would say the same.
