I would recomend something like the light leather (http://c-rpg.net/index.php?page=equipshop&cat=body#!?page=itemdetail&id=418)

but if you want to see exactly how your equipment takes influence on your weapon points you can install this script with the help of greasmonkey.

You could better use something light, and I reccomend you using a shield, if you are not so good at blocking. 18/24 should do the trick  for you.

this might also help: http://alpha-lider19.ru/mb2015/

are you new to this game? I rarely see newcomers, but good to see one

Oh I was looking around warband mods and then I found this, I'm not really familiar with multiplayer but I guess i will learn.
This blue tunic is ugly, all those people walking around with those high class armors, I would use another one but this one is so good (it has that masterwork tag on it)

Is it long to get an item with a masterwork tag?
I do not  have so much time, but depends on fun of the game I guess
I am gonna buy a Crossbow with Bolts, this will do a lot (already have long arming sword and using elite cavalry shield with it)

I see people with like 604 and more renown, and I see that these pluses make them higher. Why can't i + forum posts?

Go and join a clan. they can lent/rent you some masterwork items.
There is one dedicated to help newbies.
Check for peasants united clan http://c-rpg.net/index.php?page=ladderoverviewclans#!?page=claninfodetail&id=2216 (http://c-rpg.net/index.php?page=ladderoverviewclans#!?page=claninfodetail&id=2216)
and apply for membership. they have a lot of armours and weapons for you to try.

I usually use the studded leather over mail for my crossbow guy but i usually run a higher armor value than most other xbows since i tend to run into combat a lot.

edit:
if you want to use a +3 crossbow i have on in my clans armory along with bolts.  ican also put in a +3 arbalest and some other stuff if you want. I dont play on my crossbow a lot anymore.

I use Khergit lamellar vest mostly. It's a bit heavier but I don't like to run away all the time as ranged so it's a little more effective in melee.

In terms of builds; it determines whether you want to be a heavy sniper with a shit ton of damage

Or whether you want to be a speedy little shit who runs around shooting people with decent damage with a lot faster reload speeds.

Or you can be similar to both and sit in the middle

There was a big reason that a lot of Xbows in Vanilla chose the Heavy Xbow over the Siege, because of the extremely fast reload speed in comparison, and it's the same with the Arba and Heavy Xbow. However, Arbalest now has a big advantage in that it is a 1 shot headshot with both the xbow and the bolts being +3

It's all dependent on accuracy to be honest with you, if you think you're accurate, go with a strong build that you can use to deal out tons of damage, but if you're not that accurate go with a lighter build.

As for Xbows, I'd say the Light xbow, Heavy Xbow and the Arbalest will be your main choices to go for, as they're sort of for each category.

I don't really play a lot of Xbow so I couldn't give you an ACTUAL build per se, but I can offer what I know from general experience of playing the game.

As for armour, you kinda want to go for something light, but still decent protection, the Lamellar protection is good all round for Xbows as its Light but good at the same time, however, I prefer the Heavy Aketon for more mobility.

However, body armour is less important as an xbow, having good head protection is a MUST (This is due to the fact that when you reload, you massively expose your head) I recommend the good ol' Kettle Helmet, it's always been my choice when I played Xbow, and I think from the last time I saw it, the Aketon pairs well with it.
Mail gloves are decent
And boots don't really matter, I usually pick the Norman Mail Chausses because they look good.

Quick FYI, if you are new, you'll want to use lighter gear due to the repair costs on armour, the gpt (Gold per tick) was recently reduced from 150 to 60, so you're getting significantly less gold than you did before.

Also, make sure you take time to practice blocking, it's pretty necessary for C-RPG due to the high skill of the players here.
Blocking is way more important than attacking, as it's what keeps you alive. Believe me when I say that, because I focused on attack and I'm a lot worse off lol.

I''ll try to use ligther gear then, yes. and i will probably just go full crossbow. It is not fun being wrecked in two shots by everyone, and they just cleave through you like you're nothing -.-

but i heard 18strength 24 agility is a good build for crossbowmen (Awesomehail said that 15 stength and 27 agility would be viable too with heavy crossbow) but I guess i just need to figure out what to do.
Are there many dutch people here by the way? Coincidentally AwesomeHail was dutch too, and its somewhat easier in my own language.

thanks for all the tips!

what are these lances? i can pick them up and throw them away? i dont need a skill for it?

Correct they are 0 difficulty throwing lances. Not the most accurate with 0 throwing skill but a fun and occasionally useful item to carry into battle for someone who would otherwise have no ranged weapon. Also useful  for rearing horses if you are not a polearm.

this is JUST under wpf penalty weight for 0 iron flesh
set is loomed, so take into account that glove weight is 0.2 instead of the regular 0.5

As a ranged character, you're going to have less hit points on average than infantry characters. The more detailed links to armor penalty equation for ranged were already posted, but it's not the end of the world if you have a small penalty due to armor weight.

Generally body armor with weight 10-12 is as high as I prefer to go with my crossbow user. Light hand and leg armor, pick a helm that you like the look of (but try not to go for the heaviest possible ones). This won't save you from infantry guys with a fuckoff-huge 2 handed sword, but you can soak a few hits from enemy ranged or 1 handed weapons.

Even in medium armor like your blue tunic and mail, you will be faster than most infantry once you raise your agility to 24 or higher and max out athletics skill. If you wear really light weight armor you can zip all around the map to get the best shooting spots and run from anyone but cavalry. But you'll die in one hit from pretty much anything.

The regular crossbow is great for a hybrid build if you're going to use a good 1H weapon and a shield. If you use the heavy crossbow or arbalest consider using very light melee weapons and no shield if you're comfortable blocking manually. You will feel the armor penalty more heavily if you're using the top-end crossbows as well.

Find out which playstyle suits you best! You might prefer the hybrid jack of all trades, or the slow and steady sniper, or the annoying marathon runner peasant that can pick and choose what fights he gets into.
