Title: What happened to cRPG?

Used to play this a lil like a year ago or so, but where did everyone go?
Usually only around 50 people on at max vs having sieges and big battles and stuff.

Greys and DRZ were keeping siege alive a few months ago but since they left/took break it's Battle or DTV only unless we have a siege event.

A lot of players left but even in its death throes this game is averaging around 50 people on EU1 every night still, which I think is fantastic for a mod for a game released 6 years ago.

well i mainly ask as both native and nw are still populated. figures crpg would be dead when i wanted to get into it lol

We were asked the same question here. Some have gone, some empathy for other games. But once CRPG has something new, they will grow up like weeds in spring.

most of us takin a break and waiting for MaB2 or M:BG

honestly, I was pretty sure that it wouldn´t last to summer 2015. What a firm mod  :)

Native and NW populations have diminished pretty hard as well. They just started at a much higher number

Nobody replied with the more obvious "they play Mercenaries mod", which too is probably the cause. The M mod looks fresh, better textures,..

I don't know the story behind Mercs, but why are those mods so similar? Seems like Mercs are the lite version of cRPG (no leveling), yet they lack the deepness of cRPG - Strategus...

Mercs is fun on it's own, shitty way. I made a list time ago, no idea where I made it where I compared mercs with crpg. actually mercs lacks behind everything in crpg, the only + for merc atm is the playerbase and the lower skilled players.

Anyway I'm new to Mercs and I like it because there's no grind involved, I'm very short of spare time these days - very, that's the only reason besides minor things like updated models/textures, costum banners, etc.

But I miss Strategus type of open world with countless possibilities, epic fun on weekends.

Either Mercs could come up with something similar (if they care), or cRPG will make an epic comeback - which I hope for! in conjunction with Bannerlord maybe...

PS: I'm trying to get new players from Mercs and PW to give cRPG a go, but most don't like grinding. Younger audience, guess it's Evolution...

Yeah, I've been playing on & off for nearly 4 years now (come March).  Population is like never before.  Sadzzz!!!

Heck, back in the summer... things seemed to be booming.  One night... there was 100+ in NA1.  It was only for a night.  But regularly 50-60 players.  This dropped to regularly 35-40 players... but that was pretty consistent.

It was this way at the beginning of October.  I stopped playing for like a 5 weeks (organizing up a wedding & getting married, honeymoon).  I come back mid-Nov... and it's totally dead.  Maybe 20 on a night.  Which has slowly dropped each week.  To no one on at what was prime time.

Super sadzzz!!!

I just want to try really hard with like 5-9 clanmates in a server of at least 40v40 active population, with no less than 3/4 also trying really hard with great gear and teamwork.

Don't think it'll ever happen again.

For real though, every time I get on NA with 20-40 (HOLY SHIT 40 PEOPLE ACTUALLY PLAYING SOMEONE CALL 911) people, I can't help but have fun. Even so, I'm filled with a bittersweet longing for me and the boys getting drunk and stoned on TS and fucking dominating until KUTT shows up in force and Xeen targets my ass over all others and I get too upset and quit, dragging everyone with me to play CS or some gay shit
