Title: Strange occurrences in predominantly racist world of today

I reckon you guys might like this topic, leaning towards right wing spectrum.

We'll start with fresh case of one Ian Murdock, creator of Debian and very prominent figure in open source ecosystem. His last tweets, before he died under suspicious circumstances yet to be resolved and officially communicated to general public:

5:45pm: where they put you in a cell with absolutely no instructions whatever aside from the spell on the floor in piss?
5:45pm: shall i post pictures for all my bruises from my against the police officers?
5:38pm: they said no
5:38pm: i asked if they had cameras
5:37pm: then followed my home from there
5:37pm: i had to have swtitches
5:36pm: then they pulled me out of my house and did it again
5:36pm: they followed me home
5:36pm: i had to go to the hospital
5:35pm: they beat the shit out of me twice, then charged me $25,000 to get out of jail for battery against THEM
5:34pm: if anyone wants to come over and see what the police did to me i would be more than happy for that
5:30pm: I'm not committing suicide today. I'll write this all up first, so the police brutality ENDEMIC in this so call free country will be known.
5:27pm: Maybe my suicide at this, you now, a successful business man, not a friend, will finally bring some attention to this very serious issue.
5:25pm: My career is over now, so I'll be gone soon.

5:22pm: I'll write more much later. They still don't have cameras on all police so I'm going to use my somewhat celebrity to hopefully stop this.
5:21pm: My bail for "assault against a police officer" are all that: $25,000.

5:20pm: I'll write more on my blog later. But the police here beat me up for knowing on my neighbor's door.. they sent me to the hospital.

you should start up a separate thread, i dont think we have enough.  Then you can all go into the same thread and complain about nonsense together, maybe pat each other on the back, talk about how you are all right, throw a few disdaining, slanderous comments at americans and watch their reactions.

...since you instantly jumped to the "they had it coming... always..."-side, I felt kinda compelled to jump into the opposite direction.

I really don't get it at all.

There are such worse things that happen to people all the time other than getting beat up by a group of officers and being charged w/ a $25,000 fine for assault on an officer...
Friends/Family could die or get terminal or life changing injury or illness... You could accidentally hit and kill someone while driving... You could be wrongfully imprisoned for a long time... You could be born into a country like Liberia and literally be doomed to have no future and if you have kids they will also be doomed to have no future... etc.. etc...

It's all kind of bizarre...
The fact that he starts off with "I'm committing suicide tonight" then 15 minutes later says "I'm not committing suicide today...". That N-bomb was pretty random too, he wasn't trying to be racist he was just using the word to like portray how the police see black thugs or something... And what's that #runnerkristy67??? And who's that guy whos that Jacksormwriter who he says "wants me dead"??? Also he says at beginning to check his blog, hes gonna write it all on his blog... but the most recent thing on his blog is from september and has nothing to do with all this...

It almost seems like he had a mental breakdown before he even encountered the police, and then when the police came involved they weren't taking no shit and gave him the heavy hand... and that just magnified his mental breakdown tenfold... Then somehow he got into another altercation probably with the same police officers and they charged him with assault on an officer and it just magnified his mental breakdown another tenfold pushing him over his limit until he popped.

Sucks for his family and friends though, condolences to all.

Guy killed himself cause he got his ass kicked by cops, seriously? And there's no recourse whatsoever except suicide, because clearly he lives in a dystopian dictatorship. I'm with Hans, I'm going to guess the "beating" (we still only have this guy's word the beating ever happened or was administered by cops, he apparently went to the hospital over it, what did he tell the hospital? "Police officers beat the shit out of me for no reason"?) was either entirely due to this guy having some sort of breakdown in public and being restrained or was magnified following an event this guy considered traumatic. But hey, I'm sure the guy killing himself over this is totally no indication of mental trauma and instability, the overdramatic declarations, "We're the police, we can do whatever we want", "we're the police, we always win", female police officer ripping off his underwear and "raping" him, the new life-long crusade against the evil, sadistic, uneducated police. Oh yeah, this guy seems on the up and up. The bigger picture that's missing is this guy's medical history. Or any point of view other than his own. Or any evidence or proof beyond strident, emotional declarations. 
Just the way Molly immediately jumped on the other side of the arguement, supported of course by Heskey, leads me to the exact opposite conclusion. Anything these two swallow up because it feeds the narrative of evil, evil, violent US cops is immediately suspect.

He reportedly fought with the cops, and was given a ticket for two counts of assault and one for obstruction of an officer. The techie had been drinking, according to the police logs. A medic arrived to treat an abrasion to Murdock's forehead, and he was released so he could be taken to hospital.

A few hours later, on Sunday, December 27 at 2.40am, police were called again to reports of Murdock banging on the door of a neighbor at the very same block. A medic arrived to treat him for any injuries. Officers then took Murdock to the county jail where he was held in a cell."

So, drunk and violent and trying to break in to his neighbor's property. What a bunch of sadistic assholes, violently attacking a citizen just going about his daily business for no reason. The way the family has reacted also leads me to believe they themselves know the source of the problem wasn't the police:

"The cause of death is not known at this stage, but it is not believed to be suspicious. A spokesperson for Docker said it was a "private matter."
"His family has asked people to respect their privacy during this difficult time."

If they believed the police was at fault in any way I doubt their response would've been so muted and emphasizing privacy.

Hah. You dont pay the insane amount of socialist taxes like we Euros do. You dont deserve any benefits already because of that. Get shrekt son.

99.9% sure he was mentally ill. Undiagnosed mental illness is a widespread problem that most police don't identify. Unfortunately the Police will usually let their emotions get in the way of their job and write people off as uncontrollable assholes instead of getting them a psych eval or checked in at a hospital.

you cant just take people in because they are acting odd, they have to state very specific sets of lines for you to even be able to do a psych eval on them.  Unless its court ordered, and then you just swing by and cuff em against their will, usually is quite the show.
