Ranged-only would be akin to watching paint dry, brawling wouldn't be too far off since it's basically like watching two shielders duel (with unbreakable shields), and a fight between dagger-wielding assassins would just be an S-key fest. They sound fun on paper, but they probably would get tiring after one or two. Otherwise, sounds like a solid tournament.

I have an idea for a fun tournament
The name of the tournament will be called "The Religion of Peace" and it will be played in two rounds.
R1. You take X amount of male characters wearing muslim clothes armed with stones and one naked female with full athletics in the arena map, the female character runs and tries to avoid as many stones as possible, the first male with 3 kills, wins the round.
R2. You take 2 players, and fully equip them while all the rest are unarmed , again in the arena map, the concept here is to see who from the 2 armoured guys will kill the most unarmed players, each kills rewards you with 3 points + a 1 point bonus if you type "Allahu Akbar" after each kill.

Maybe you could split the winnings 50-50, and do 2 different tournaments, one for NA and one for EU, that way NA people aren't fighting on the EU server and vice-versa, i know it would be more work for you but it would make the tournament fair(ish) for everyone.

It is. I just didn't want to reveal whole idea before getting a bit more prizes.
It's gonna be international 1v1, first duels within region and then best from every region fight each up to 3 times on different servers (if fighters are from different regions). Going to post whole set of rules after collecting some more for prizes. Also thinking about fun ranged only, brawling and daggers duels for small gold prizes.

It would work, but it's a lot of fun playing people you never have before (although with this currently proposed setup only the top of each region fight... making it kinda lamer than it could be imo). What it should be a is a double elimination/double bracket tournament, with all the players, both NA and EU thrown into the same pool. Each bracket has a differently randomized first round (so you're not paired up against the same opponent in NA and EU) and one bracket is played on EU3, the other on NA3. That way if an EU guy gets paired up against an NA in the NA bracket and loses, he still has a shot in the EU bracket against whoever his opponent may be. Then the grand finals could be a duel between the NA bracket winner and the EU bracket winner, which could in theory be a duel between two players from the same region, however unlikely that may be. Thoughts on a format more similar to this?
EDIT: Nevermind, it seems like maybe this was your idea all along, I just had a brainfart and interpreted "the best from each region" to mean the best NA vs. the best EU in the grand finals. Maybe you meant the best player from each regions' bracket, not the best player from each region, idk... hopefully the former, since that would be real fun imo.

Single elimination makes it easier to prevent match fixing but I'll think of something.
Well the idea I was trying to convey (late at night, might I add... never a good idea) was that you have 2 brackets, one for the NA server, one for the EU server. They are essentially run as two separate tournaments until a winner on each server is decided. Then you go to the grand finals round and the winners from each region duke it out on both servers. So it'll be single elimination style, and yet every player will still have two chances, basically, due to there being two brackets.
