I had a friend who used to watch this show called the Ultimate Fighter. I remember watching one episode where the coaches for either team were Rousey and some other MMA fighter, and Rousey came off as a complete bitch in certain situations. A nice person, then bam, all of sudden the bitch switch was on. I remember thinking the other woman came off as much more likeable and reasonable.

Who doesn't she hate? She has a completely overblown sense of her own skills due to beating some women in a joke of a weightclass in a joke of a sport, "WMMA." She seriously thinks she could beat a professional male MMA fighter (Tate's boyfriend) with a good record.... despite her only achievement being winning other women, women who have had terribly technique and an even worse level of athleticism. Rousey, at least, is a decent athlete, which has by itself given her a decisive edge. But being a good athlete is a given in male MMA...

Just watched the fight... man, she got destroyed in there. Beautifully picked apart... Nope. She was out cold after the kick already. Good stoppage.

This is a very stupid sport, but have to say that I enjoyed that other girl dancing around while Rousey desperately tried to catch up with her and taking hits in the process. One of the rare aspect I enjoy are speed and quickness.
Edit: At the end, when she knocked her down, Holms went to finish the job but as soon judge said stop she momentarily got up. Later she was crouching next to Ronda to see if she's ok. That is how an athlete and true fighter should behave. Rousey has many things to learn from this match.

Well, to be fair... she has been dominating the women part for quite a while. That demands a certain respect as an achievement. She is responsible for all the publicity women get by now. And being a mean bitch is probably part of the show anyway.
She said in an interview once that the reason for her being paid nearly as much as the men, while all the other chicks get barely 30%, is that she's delievering a show. Smack talk is part of the show...
Anyway, Holm won well deserved no doubt and maybe this will advance the women sport further. Not much a fan of women beating each other to a pulp but guess they deserve to be part of the sport as much as men.

Rousey is big but this fight she also had a decent layer of fat. Holm had oversized delts and traps while being lean as fuck. Especially for a woman it's very hard to have a that low body fat percentage and big muscles at the same time because of their low test levels. If she was clean I'd be very impressed - especially at her age.

Just read a bit about her. Basically everyone with knowledge in martial arts claims that she's winning all her fights solely because of her expertise in Judo and that she's a terrible boxer. Which seems reasonable after seeing how she wins most of her fights.

She's not a boxer. Ronda Rousey prior to this entertainment career (next stop is WWE if I'm not mistaken) was olympic medalist in judo. I'm not even entirely sure is this her real persona or an act. Seems that many people prefer her "mean bitch who breaks arms" attitude. That tells a lot about people who follow this crap.
Only reason why I and most other people ever heard of her is her unbeaten record, which has come to an end.

The fighter pool is pretty small in women's mma and that's why most fighters there are shit. At least compared to the men's lower weight classes which are fueled by the inferiour complex of manlets that need martial arts for boosting their egos during puberty and thus have a huge fighter pool.
It's also harder for women to knock each other out because of lower upper body strength vs. evolutionary adaption to domestic violence.

Pretty much what Paul said, it's harder for women to do damage with strikes, and the women she fought weren't all that good.
Even the Holm vs Rousey fight, they both had footwork like they were heavyweight men, very shitty for how light they are.

It's because the Americans love WWE and loved it during Hulk Hogan's Era and Steve Austin/The Rock's era in the 90s and now want it back but with real, non fake fighting. That's why these trashtalking douchebags like Conor McGregor, Brock Lesnar, Ronda Rousey etc.. are so popular. OneFC is way better. Bellator is also good but they're kinda going the WWE route as well. Rizin is also something to watch.
And Ronda fell for her own hype and acted like a bitch and got knocked out like a bitch. Had she been humble the loss wouldn't have felt so bad.
