Wish my MX 518 did not die :( currently stuck with the worst mouse known to man. I decided to open up pain and hold down the draw button while it spazzes out, check out the cool art I made while just holding a button down and not moving my mouse!

I changed colours as the mouse went off to my other monitor or off the drawing area.

Best mouse I ever used, I think I can fix it. It did not die as much as the glider pad things peeled off and made the gliding on my mouse pad funky. I should get around to restoring it.

Yeah, the MX 518. Im suprised so many of you know of it. I bought one out of random once and have had it for nearly 5 years now. Before it the amount of mouses that broke on me were insane.

I had MX518 before switching to Razer Deathadder years ago. Never looked back, and I like the shape more.

I too went to Razer Kiddiemode a few years back (mamba 2012).
Do not want to recommend it tho', since the general population are not ready to evolve yet

I do use the G400 from logitech. Love it! I have it now for 4 years and do not have any problems with it! well once I had to repair it cuz it constantly dced but that's a extremely uncommon bug!

Logitech MX-518 for lyf! I will never get a Razer Deathadder. Those thumb buttons are awkward as fuck. You have to move the mouse while pressing down on it because you can't grab it without pressing the stupid thumb buttons. MX-518, G-400 etc have perfect shape and would survive a nuclear war.

Although Razer definitely seems to target a younger audience (or just "hardcore gamers lel") I have been happy with both my mice from them, the first lasted 6 years or so and I only really replaced it since it wasn't the most ergonomic and the slippery feet had long since worn off the bottom. I've been using a deathadder I got for $20 off ebay ever since and have no regrets (had that one maybe 4 years now, still works like brand new).

I don't even use 4 of its 6 special buttons. My left-handed friend would make much better use of those.

I use all of them (no exaggeration) almost in all games. It always feels great to be able to gather in one place all of those scattered keyboard buttons. It comes in handy especially with those games where you have quick slots lined up between 1-9.

Yeah, no issues with the thumb buttons here. You just gotta hold the mouse with your thumb placed below them. Or, if you feel the need to rest your thumb awkwardly halfway up the mouse on top of the buttons, they require enough force that they won't get pressed by accident when moving the mouse side-to-side.

For most games I play I have everything between ` and 6, left ctrl and v with g and t included easily accessible (although z and x are a little bit troublesome). That's about 19ish keys + wasd cluster. Few games require more frequently used controls than that. Notable exception, I keep push to talk on the mouse.

You can see my hand every time you use the nudge in crpg m8 :D.

I don't really like the claw grip myself. Otherwise you'd have to let an asphalt roller to drive over your mouse hand to make it flat for the razer design :D

I've had a razer deathadder since like 2011(?) whenever I got into cRPG. My dad bought some new mouse and gave me his old one which happened to be a razer deathadder. No complaints and its a great mouse. I got a second one eventually from a friend who quit playing video games and now i have another to carry around in my laptop bag for when i want to play cRPG on the go.

I had a Deathadder and an Imperator a few years ago, both lasted marginally over the 6 month warranty before the tracking went funny.

Had my death adder for a couple of years now, no sign of wear or slowness.

I'm not fond of those mouse with a bunch of buttons on the side. The death adder is quick, sleek, reliable and is comfortable for me, and that's what counts.

Do it! Had a Sensei Raw, ended up giving it to my friend, it was just too small for my hand and the software was awful and went back to my old Deathadder. This on the other hand is a different story, one of the best gaming mice out right now. I considered getting Roccat Kone, but after seeing and feeling this one the choice was obvious.

it took me 2 hours driving around town, visited 5 shops before I found one, they were all sold out. If you like the Sensei you'll love the Rival

You can also go to their webist and check what they recommend depending on what games you play, grip etc. Because they know best! hahahha marketing at it's best but it actually servers a purpose somewhat.

I just bought this funky looking thing

Has really high dpi 16,400... and has great reviews on amazon... 4.5 stars from 1700+ reviews.
Plus it was only like $30 so if it turns out I don't really like it, it's not too big of a deal. It also matches my black/red theme of my PC build and it has a dragon! <3

Only things that matter in a mouse are the shape and how good it tracks (which isn't said anywhere on the box or the specs). Possibly how many buttons it has, depending on your needs. DPI is completely useless.

Spend millions buying a high dpi mouse then you eventually lower it to 450-800 anyway :D

You have to play at the native DPI of the sensor to get the best tracking. Those funny DPI numbers on the box are the result of interpolation techniques. You want to avoid that. I'm pretty sure Logitech could sell a 2.000.000 DPI mouse with the same sensors they use now if they wanted to.

The most important thing with a mouse is what sensor is in it and its shape. Other stuff is mostly pointless/preference. Find out the sensor and google search that to see what people think. Good sensors will let you move the mouse fast while maintaining 1:1 input/output. So the crosshair ends up at the same point every time regardless of how fast you move. High DPI is a bit of a red herring, and often optical mice are better than laser

In practical terms most sensors give optimal results at 800 DPI. Some models do 1000 DPI. It's quite easy to test your mouse sensor by using an application like MS Paint and making quick diagonal swipes with the pencil tool. If your mouse is set up correctly the line will be smoother.

Taking forever to ship... ordered it like 5 days ago and they still haven't shipped it  :|

I love my logitech G5 and it still works like a charm, I just wish it had like 1 or 2 more thumb buttons for MMOs
It has wear marks on the left and right button and on the top center where my palm rests on it... if u run ur finger over the marks you can actually feel its worn down by like a half centimeter  :D
Might end up returning the dragonmouse if it doesn't meet my expectations.

I just got a new keyboard in the mail too
Logitech G710+... First keyboard I've ever had worth more than like $40 :3 I'm excited but I need a larger desk for it...

The keyboard tray I use on my desk will fit the keyboard but reduces the area for my mouse to like 5 or 6 inches wide... and keyboard tray also forces me to have a little akward of a position when resting my hands on wasd my left arm is kind of scrunched to my torso and my right arm is comfortably relaxed and extended a little bit from my torso... Not too horrible but enough that I just put the keyboard aside for now until I get a new desk.

I bought a pair of Gunnar glasses for those marathon days/weeks of gaming... Should arrive tomorrow. Going full nerd mode this year.
