Title: Heirs, to make lvling alts less painless
Post by: POOPHAMMER on October 18, 2015, 04:42:09 pm
So I am leveling my archer alt, one I do not plan to retire I just want a lvl 36 archer for a build I have planned. It is total shit sometimes lvling an alt like that because I am proficient in archery, but when someone gets close due to point investment I have 0 ps. I was kind of thinking, it would be cool to be able to have a character be an heir. They receive whatever set % of XP from whatever you play, but they can not retire to prevent easy and fast loom points, not now or ever. That way I can play my lvl 37 main or whatever, but since the gap to lvl 38 is so ridiculous, a portion of the XP can go to something meaningful. Instead of that character getting lets say 20k xp a tick, he gets 10k and the heir gets 10k.

It can give us a reason endgame to play a lvl 37 character or even the few that have lvl 38, because at this point lvl 39 is a fantasy that will never ever happen, even lvl 38 is a pipe dream. Thoughts/opinions?

Yes, lvl 39 cap needs to go down. We would probably need to spend like 10 years of our lives playing this mod frequently to get to lvl 39. We have lives too!

At my current rate of xp intake I'd need another 19.5 years to get to level 39, and I'm already level 38. Challenge = not accepted.

I was muted for my volunteer cRPG NA public defender duties, so I couldn't say how much I want this for a few days.

I'm gen 28, but I've never leveled an alt from scratch. Absolutely can't stand the low-level grind. Not saying it isn't far easier than it was in the past, but I STILL can't stand it.

I'd like to have more variety than my main and my STF, and this would accomodate that without me changing anything!

Yeah, this would be the best addition to the game at this point for any vet player, easily. However, it really isn't "fair" that we can run around with our high level, fully-loomed mains while pooping out loompoints left and right from all of our alts (that we never use until they're level 35+, if at all). Don't get me wrong, I'd love this feature and abuse it to death, but I'm not really sure it fits in with the general idea behind crpg, or any rpg, where you gain your experience by starting off as a noob and "leveling up."

Yes but I already said in the OP if this gets added in, those characters that receive the XP will not ever be able to retire to prevent such a thing. It will purly be there for obtaining another character lvl 35+

I'd love this.

If I get my main to lvl 37, I still have a lvl 36 alt and multiple 35's who I want to level to 36 or higher. I almost never retire either. :\
