the meme is incorrect because it doesnt tell that the Germans gave us money, and then with the same money the Greeks bought broken sub marines from the Germans.

I have the same CPU/GPU

it is pretty solid, only game that I get performance issues on is Path of Exile but that game has the most piss poor optimization in the world. As for SSD I would suggest going with a samsung (my brand of choice) or intel, never heard of Adata but a bad SSD is harder to detect because unlike a reg HD it doesnt make any noises that give an indication of problems.

I would suggest getting an Intel CPU and a better/newer GPU. 16GB RAM is generally unnecessary, can do with 8.
Title: Re: New GAMING PC, please assist me.
Post by: F i n on September 25, 2015, 12:53:33 pm
I wouldn't buy a case for 120...

Rather get something cheaper.
(click to show/hide)

The money you're saving u could put in a better GPU. (saving ~ 50 with the case, + another 50 with 8 gig ram, + the 30 you have left to your limit). Plus, RAM is something your cousin could easily buy later. Graphics - not so much.

With the amount you save you could easily get a GTX 970 or similar card.

If your cousin is a gamer, he should spend money on gaming parts. not on cases IMO

Yeah, get a better GPU. I also recommend the GTX970.

What they said GTX970, cut down on the case, psu ( some 500/600W gold will do, no need for 700W ) even memory, you will do just fine with 8gb 1600/1866 ( I have 8gb Mushkin @ 1866 and have no problems what so ever ).

32Gb SSD isn't gonna cut it unless you use some Linux distro or go into some weird RAID stuff with the other drive. If your budget is tight right now, better invest in one of those "SSD hybrid" drives. The cache algorithms work decently well and it's just as easy to setup as any other single drive.

What Kafein wrote... I own a 120GB - 111GB actually usable due being a SSD - and that's just enough for windows and programs.
It's a popular brand (don't recall atm and too lazy) and paid like 70€ at Amazon for it. Anything lower doesn't really make sense.

Guys, thanks for all the replies.

I found a smaller MIDI case, as Fin suggested, I will stick with the AMD GPU cause I`m really satisfied by it, I have it OC`D it at my own system and it runs perfectly even after of 1 year of heavy abuse (with no additional CPU cooling aid, only the default), besides at that range of money 200 euros, AMD has better CPUS by intel, more cores, same MB cache, so I wont change the CPU.

I also dropped the RAM from 16 to 8GB`s, and I also noticed that the MOB has 4 DD3 slots, so a future upgrade will be possible, now regarding the GPU`s, I saw plenty of you suggesting the 970, which one by the way???  http://www.e-shop.gr/vga-kartes-grafikon-l?table=PER&category=%CA%C1%D1%D4%C1+%C3%D1%C1%D6%C9%CA%D9%CD&filter-366=1&filter-10167=1

The SSD I just want it for the OS and a couple of basic programms, thats why I picked a 2 TB HDD.

Are there any european hardware sites, or US , that ship to Greece?

The thing is that you get cheaper things with free delivery, but I don`t really know for how much more time the capital controls will be enabled, and you cant buy nothing VIA paypal since its blocked in Greece, and you can only spend 450 euros per week for ebuys -_-

Zotac or MSI or Palit.

I've had the Palit Jetstream gtx770 and can recommend (if the 970 is the same in quality). Got good cooling and is absolutely quiet.

Do you have to buy at the shop you've linked? Don't u ppl have amazon? Might as well try ebay. Or i'll buy it for you and send it over. Seeing those prices in your country, i've got tears in my eyes.

After heavy consideration I downgraded the CPU to 8320 (will OC it) and with the money left,  I chose the next best 970 GTX (based on newegg reviews) from the one you recommended me, I picked this because its small, not very watt consuming, and it will last for at least 2 years (at least I hope), after that I may recommend to my uncle to buy another one for crossfire (thats why I put a 700w power suply)

I picked a new cpu cooler, not something special, just to get rid off the default one.

Picked a MIDI tower since the VGA is very small.

Dual rams @ 8G`s 1600mhz, will do the trick I think

I left out the SSD, because fuck my little cousin, he`s 14, he doesnt deserve one!

What do  you think?

You can always get a proper SSD when some bucks are left in the pocket.
Better to have none than a 32GB - that would be like throwing money out of the window.

exactly my thinking.

ad I told my uncle, he can buy him this set for now, and in 1 year , when the prices of the SSD drop down a bit more, he can buy him one, plus a second video card for crossfire.

In generall I think this will be a good gaming pc for at least a couple of years, given the circumstances and the available material.

Btw, is there a german hardware site where you can build your own pc, that ships to Greece?

If I make an order from amazon, do they built the pc aswell, or they deliver the parts only?
Title: Re: New GAMING PC, please assist me.

I'm pretty sure there are e-shops in Germany selling to Greece - which... I couldn't tell you.
And I am not sure how it works with taxes and stuff.

I ordered a couple of items from Amazon for my build but I was only upgrading and not building from ground up.
Tbh, I doubt that they prebuild it tho.

What? You can get used OCZ Vertex 3 60gb for 35-40 euros here, paid mine 3-4 years ago 3 times that, it's still a beast. Btw. Panos always be sure to check read and write speeds, just the letters SSD don't mean you'll get a fantastic performance

Just spoke with the shop I placed the order, and they told me that for an extra 20 euros they can assembly the pc, as long as I bring them the case.

I never build up a pc from scratch, but I saw a couple of videos last night, and it doesnt seem so tricky really.

Maybe ill just do it and pray that i wont fuck things up

If you've never done it before it'll be safer to pay the money. It's not that difficult just time consuming and fiddly but if you've spent all that cash and fuck something up there will be rage.

Well, that is a never ending cycle isn't it? Just build it, building a PC is pretty retard proof, the only thing you can easily fuck up is thermal paste, so be sure to check out how to do that properly.

I've just recently assembled a whole system of brand new parts. All from scratch and for the first time ever. The fear of fucking things up was real. But I did it without issues anyway. I might have spent double the time an experienced user would. Still it was a triumph.

You can do it too. Just be well prepared beforehand.

20 euros for building is nothing, I'd even argue it's too cheap and you risk having them do errors and such.

Well, that is a never ending cycle isn't it? Just build it, building a PC is pretty retard proof, the only thing you can easily fuck up is thermal paste, so be sure to check out how to do that properly.

Lots of things are never ending circles. Like paying for food. 20 euros every 5ish years seems okay.

Mostly this. Nowadays you can barely do something wrong when putting the pieces together for your own pc, if you plugged some parts wrong and turn it on, nothing will catch fire or stuff, it just won´t work. Hey, even I managed to set up my pc here and I´m no rocket scientist.
But if you´re not that much into tinkering, didn´t like to play LEGO or just don´t want to bother with it, let it assemble it for you, 20 bucks is really cheap for that.

So all in all, it simply depends on if you want to put it together yourself or not.

Should have saved more money and got a an Intel CPU. I had an AMD FX 8350 a while ago and it's not bad, but for an extra £100 you can get high end Intel CPUs which piss all over the FX 83xx. You can always upgrade that later though I guess, if I had known you were going to build a PC a few weeks ago I would have sold you my FX 8350 for £70  :(

1000€ ?

GTX960 OC 4go (MSI)
i5 4690("k" if you want to overcloak) (i7 are useless for games atm, maybe in 5-8yo, it will)
16go RAM (4x4, not 2x8)
120go or 240go SSD (ONLY FOR WINDOWS INSTALLATION and maybe some few games but it has to be almost empty)
2To HDD Seagate Barracuda or Green Caviar. (If I was you, i'd put 2x2to HDD)
MotherCard Z97 MSI (socket 1150) or MSI B85-G43 GAMING for exemple.
Any hardcase ATX or mini-ATX
Alim' 650Watts should be largly ok with a great 24" Screen + Mouse/Keyboard + Joystick etc..

For exemple : http://www.topachat.com/pages/configomatic.php?c=Nigny9GYY4SSDNPqAw7YjH%2B1m3rlb2ty3SYKNbtM1MI%3D

DONT CARE BOUT PRICES ON THIS WEBSITE, THEY ARE TOOK FROM THEIR PROVIDERS (not always cheaper stuff) ==> TYPE ALL THOSE COMPONENTS ONE BY ONE ON GOOGLE FOR THE BEST PRICES AND YOU'LL CAN SAVE AROUND ~10% ! :D

And of course... Windows is around 250€ so.. If you wanna buy it.. Then buy it, but you know what i mean.. huuuum huuuum !
But if i can give you an advice.. Take "Windows Seven Ultimate 64bits" Not Win10 for the moment.

With that PC dude... You'll make the games asking "how can he resists to us!"

Cheers !  8-)
