I don't think he gives a shit about the arrest. Look at all attention he has gotten. He'll have a guaranteed job within Facebook, maybe he'll get a scholarship plus he'll get to meet Obama.

Now his future will be solid. Jelly

The thing I find questionable about this whole thing is how the school reacted.

The teacher reports that the student has something that resembles a bomb. Student gets escorted to office with his clock.
Faculty explains that his clock might be a bomb and that they needed to detain him for safety reasons.

Then the faculty take this clock, which they just that they are unsure whether it is a bomb or not, and then they confiscate it and put it into a school building.

Where was the Bomb Squad??? Where was the school evacuation???
I mean if they really thought it was a bomb and they didn't evacuate or call the bomb squad that is very irresponsible.

The alternative is that they knew it was not a bomb, but they had the local police arrest him because it COULD* be mistaken for a bomb... Which isn't really a crime. Actually it probably is a crime... but discerning what could be mistaken as a bomb and what could not be mistaken for a bomb is so subjective and up to interpretation that it shouldn't be left up to individuals to decide when the law is being broken or not.

Taking all this into account, the school acted irresponsibly.

Cool all the tech companies and MIT reached out to the kid though, he's definitely stoked now and the school still has him on suspension. Which is pretty much like a surprise vacation at that age :P

Have you seen the "clock"? He just disassembled a supermarket clock and put the parts together again in a case, showing only a countdown. It's very likely meant as a bomb imitation and the school wanted to teach him a lesson for this. Didn't go that well.

Yeah, the impression I get is that he was actually arrested for purposefully trying to cause panic.

Hilarious if true, and then all these organizations give him a ton of attention for being a troll.

Arabs carrying beeping chrome briefcases make you feel calmer, and more relaxed. The faster the beeping, the more and more relaxed you feel, the more and more you drift into your Peaceful Place.

Now it remains only to put explosives in the suitcase and went to the White House at the invitation of the president himself. Perfect plan

RL troll. The kid deliberately made his "clock" look like a suitcase bomb, and he had an alarm set off for it to go off in the middle of a class, deliberately. And no one literally thought it was a suitcase bomb or they would've evacuated the school, called a bomb squad, etc. Probably didn't think it would gain national attention and was just a random prank though, pretty much everyone overreacted to this. Once the clickbait and 24h news networks get a hold of a story they can milk for outrage any semblance of objectivity goes out the window, and idiots like Leshma who read no further than the title of articles without digging any further get to parade their retarded "opinions".

So funny when you read the comments at that site for the articles. People who believe it's real news and doesn't realize what kind of a site it is (just like the Onion) and makes big TL;DR texts to whine about the topic

This 1 was pretty lolzy tho http://www.duffelblog.com/2015/09/world-begs-us-military-force-syria-bitch-later/

It's hilarious. The guy was invited to Google Science events and crap, was there on stage with actual inventor-makers standing proudly and crap. And on talkshows, talking about how it was "kind of cool" to get arrested, yet will be suing the school for emotional trauma caused by it... and little twat talking about "not my first invention and not my last invention", Jesus Christ.

His father has connections to the sudanese government. The way he went around with his "clock" that looks like every movie bomb ever. He kept bothering his teachers in every class and kept shoving it in their faces. Idk for sure if it was a conspiracy but there are many things thats just really dont make any sense. When he was being interviewed his family were telling him how to respond or stopping him from responding.

By law they can't release the official report of the incident because he is a juvenile and they need his parent's permission, which they refused. I'm happy for the kid, he was smart enough to take advantage of our retarded society.
