Title: Random tourney(POLL FOR 2v2 or 3v3!) Prize pool 750k gold and LPS! DATE 10/3/15!

Here's an idea I had, lets see if anyone else thinks its a cool idea.
 
It would be a 2v2(or 3v3 will be a poll after we select date) tourney with all the normal rules with a twist. You dont make a team, you just apply. After the application period is over all the people get put into a pot and your partner gets randomly selected out of the mix and then you guys fight in the tourney together. It'd get rid of the whole "JayJrod is rigging the contest!" thing and would be pretty interesting to see who gets paired with who. Maybe two bitter rivals will fight side by side and become friends! It'd use the same rules as the last NA 2v2 tourney( no crush through, 30k armor limit, no ranged).

EU players are welcome but it will be on the NA servers probably around 7pm PST on 10/3/15

pretty cool idea, so we dont have to just fight against tryharder Teams and shit, but you cant accept every player to this, just look at blackbirds 2v2 tourney, some peeps just dont Show up, and thats unfair for the other Person. (It's hard to manage i mean)

NA has been pretty good with our tourney turn outs so far. Almost every team usually shows up. But yeah that would be sucky if that happened

I can't say I'm personally a big fan of being paired randomly. If JayJ was the one randomly choosing the teams people would still cry out that the event is rigged if they don't like their partner or don't consider them to be very good . Plus, I think a lot of the fun of the tournaments comes from playing with friends.

I do think there will be events in the future with randomly selected teams, but they will likely be more casual in nature and not full fledged tournaments.

Not a bad idea, maybe something like a 3v3 would be better though, simply because we only recently had a 2v2. Time to change it up a bit.


This also doesn't really need to be an official tourney, some people might be willing to donate stuff for prizes.

Yeah maybe, 3v3 is fun too. If people are interested I will run it. I'll put up a poll in a minute.

A Team tournament would be best, Maybe not 2v2 until the best of the different teams. So a ladder almost like the single player ones. Possibly do 5v5v5 then best team from that goes onto 4v4 (against second best) then 3v3 then 2v2?
