I can't decide what sword make my hairloom one. German has a better thrust damage, danish a better swing. Or should i even bother about 2 points damage?
-
Do whatever you like :-)
Like stabbing more, go german.
Like slashing more, go danish.
Beware, are you comfortable with the current stabanimation? If not, tendency slightly goes for danish!
Both have high range, high upkeep and sweet looks.
So just a matter of taste. One can argue about lil stat differences, but i say, let yeer heart decide! :-) (over 1000 hours of 2 h play)

If you like to be a filthy Lolstabber go for German or Great Sword. If you like swing dmg go for Danish. Danish also got 1 more length than German. Not that it matters at all though.
-
Why lolstab is filthy? I thought it gives not very much damage.

@a_bit_longer_cat : there is nothing wrong in prefering stabbing, so don't let this post influence your decission. ;)

Don't worry, just as much people will call you a filthy lolstabber for stabbing as they will for calling you a noob spammer for swinging.

Danish, no question.
-
These days I would say Danish, German got nerfed too much. But then again, you never know what the next patch brings.
-
I took the German in deference to my German heritage. If you're interested in min/maxing the Danish probably has better specs.
-
German! Lolstab ftw
-
I'd say longsword. :D

I'd say longsword. :D
Honestly would rather have the Heavy Bastard Sword, it is significantly cheaper for almost no disadvantage besides the 1 less length and 0.2 less weight. It also has a sexier sheath.
-
Danish atm, but since you always have the market you could trade it once you get bored
-
Even though you fancy a good thrust once in a while, you will rely on swing attacks 95% of the time. So, no compromise: Danish.

Fixed.

You forgot about the ghost reach.

Yeah, that's my primary weapon and heirloom.

Yeah seems like ton of weapons have that... not sure if it is just ping though mostly or what? Longsword has it too?
Why doesn't my Two Handed Sword have it?
Danish is way better than German now unless you happen to be a stabby pro, who loves to stab a lot.
The Danish is also in high demand though, so an easy trade item if you decide for a change.

Halfsword? I don't get it. Is that the polearm mode? And why use that?

The only use of this for a two hander is to stop horse with a halfsword thrust. Polearm users have better weapons than halfsworded 2h. And I forgot it's so cool for the look of it.
