We should have a tourney open only to people of sub - par skill.
We dont want no mice macro weilding, autoblock fiendin, aimbot twitching, block in the proper direction with both eyes closed MOfuckers Signing for this thing either!

what about colored weapons....or archers that use brush removal?
what about people like me? that have absolutely no skill what so ever, can plate abusers also join?
last question for ya...how the fuck do any of you know how skilled anyone else is?
i used to think you were pretty good Gryph, turns out hopliting with a solid team is just incredibly easy to get good scores \ kds with...is that what makes someone, sub par? their score and kd? i mean, i could only imagine the scores and kd's frugfrug would get if he tried to win instead of RPing a peasent.
Jay once said "plumbo is pretty good" to which Aldo responded, "i have no idea how good he actually is"
Aldo is correct, this is an rpg, with PVP combat. There is no such thing as a rpg pvp with skill based combat, unless you view number crunching by the min-maxing racist frenchmans out there, a skill.
i mean, i guess its a skill...kinda...
just one that doesn't exist what so ever in Native.

Well, you certainly make a compelling point. Skill is a pretty complex vector to measure. These days I feel pretty poor at C-RPG with most playstyles, not for lack of trying.
Strengths/Playstyles aside. Compared to some of the known participants at the previous duel tourney, I'd say there's a distinguishable skillset that many of the elite possess that 80% of the rest of us just wont be able to pick up unless we work at it for years.... worst case scenario.
I was proposing a type of tourney where established players... of limited skills/capability compete. Special Tournelympics
More than anything tho ur right I was ranting, some people just too good fer dere own good, should take their ballz and go home!
Its sad tho, a lot of people I know in game / thru steam didn't wanna compete because they knew certain top players were there.

Either this is bait or people are genuinely oblivious to the tournaments that are already existing that allow everyone to have a chance to win.
Here is such a tournament: http://forum.melee.org/events/official-cavalry-tournament-8-21-15/
It doesn't forbid good players from joining, but it also doesn't allow them all to stack onto the same teams. Teams are completely random.

I thought you were dead.

I don't play as often as I use to but I've never really been gone. I just change name and theme every few weeks.
At the moment my in-game name is Akayuki (ninja), but this will change soon.

I serve the Many-Faced God.

I'll join. Everyone say i bad so i must be right?

Could just check the performance numbers for strat battles. Whenever I have to kick someone I look at the lowest number... then I see it is me. So yeah, I'd join. People with performance levels of 3 or under only.

Or maybe he wants to have a tournament with different rules than a random ass cav tournament. Maybe he wants to pick his team, maybe he doesn't want teams, maybe he wants to use his own equipment, maybe he wants it to be infantry only. And most of all he wants it to be something of an amateur tournament so players can compete to see who is the best within a certain rank. I don't see why you take offense to this or appear to but there are plenty of reasons that one maybe want to organize a tournament when yours is so limiting. Especially since this one is obviously of the kind that haven't been set up yet.
